(A month later)

"Legolas, it's good to have you back again,"Aragorn said.
Legolas smiled, "I cannot stay for long. I promised my father I would be back before sundown because of the council meeting tonight and dinner tonight. He will be furious if I'm late," "
Yes, we don't want you trapped in Mirkwood for a month,"Gimli said.
"It won't come to that,"Legolas promised.
"We better hope so,"Faramir said.

(Later that night)

Legolas, Aragorn, Gimli, Arwen and Faramir and Éowyn sat in the garden having a good time. When Legolas noticed that the sun began to set.
"I need to go,"He said in panic and stood up, "My father is going to kill me if I'm late,"
"Are you sure you'll be fine on your own?,"Aragorn asked worriedly.
"Yes, see you soon,"Legolas quickly replied. And he grabbed his bow and arrows and white knife and got on his horse and rode away in a hurry.

(Mirkwood)

Thranduil sat angrily on his throne. His son should have been here two hours ago. He hoped his son had a good excuse for this. Because Thranduil saw no interest of punishing his son for ignorance if he did not have to.

Suddenly, a guard entered the hall,
"Prince Legolas has returned, Hír nín,"
"Let him in," Thranduil said in a cold and angry tone. And the guard bowed and Legolas entered the hall.
"Eldar, leave me alone with my son, please," Thranduil ordered coldly.
"Yes, My King,"Eldar replied and left the throne room.

Thranduil turned to his son, "I'm very disappointed in you, Legolas,"
"I'm sorry, Adar, I forgot,"Legolas said quietly as he looked down, not even daring to look up at his father's disappointed look.
"Legolas! That is no excuse!," Thranduil exclaimed angrily, "You are The Crown Prince of Mirkwood! You are not an elfling anymore! You have duties you have to do! Times you have to keep! It's time you start behaving like The Prince you are! I will have no more of your ridiculous excuses!,"
"Adar, I'm sorry,"Legolas tried, "I forgot the time. It won't happen again,"
"No! It won't!,"Thranduil exclaimed, "Because you won't be allowed to leave Mirkwood until you learn to behave after my rules and orders!,"
"Adar! You can't ground me!,"Legolas exclaimed, "I will leave! And I will not come back! Ever!,"
Without hesitation, Thranduil struck his son across the face and Legolas stumbled to the floor, "How dare you rise your voice against me!," Thranduil exclaimed.
And Legolas felt tears starting streaming down his cheeks,
"You have no right to stand up against me! I'm your King! Your father! As long as you live in my Kingdom!, you fallow my orders and rules!,"
And Legolas looked at his father, and felt the blood from the cut on his lips. His father had never struck him like this before.
"You're a failure! You are not my son! Guards!,"
"Yes, Hír nín!,"Eldar said.
"Take Legolas back to his chambers!," Thranduil ordered.
And the guards took Legolas away. His son needed to learn not to defy him. That's why he would search to find a fitting bride for his son.

The guards threw Legolas into his chambers and closed the door behind them.

Legolas stood up, tears still streaming down his cheeks. And he quickly grabbed his bow and quiver and opened the balcony doors and jumped down from the balcony and landed safely on the ground.
He would travel back to Rivendell and stay in Gondor until Aragorn's death. Then he would sail to The undying lands and never return to Mirkwood again.

He snuck into the stables, saddled his horse and rode away as fast as Arod could. Leaving Mirkwood behind him. He wondered how his sister was doing now. He hadn't seen her since she made peace with Emersion and traveled back to The Light Kingdom with Elladan.
He hoped she was okay.
