The Wrong Party

"Now what do I do" I sighed as I made my way into my office, I sat at my computer and tried to get some work done to kill time, I had already met all of my quotas for the week but there was no harm in starting in on next week's work. I killed about three hours until my phone rang 

"Hello?"
"Wanna get some dinner?"
"Sure, where at?"
"I sent you the location"
"Alright Jin, see you in a few" 

I ended the call, shut all my shit off and got in my car to head to wherever Jin wanted me to meet up. 

Of course he picked a bar. Why wouldn't he?

"Hey" I sat across from him in the booth 

"Hey" he smiled wide "I'm glad you came, I was so fucking tired from work but I didn't want to go home yet"

"You and Gina still arguing?"

"Not really" he shook his head "She's trying to smooth things over, but I think I'm just" he shook his head 

"Done?"

"Yeah" he nodded and sipped his beer "it's hard to break up with someone, especially when you live together, and at one point would have given them your last breath, but I just can't anymore. I'm not happy and I haven't been for a very long time" 

"I know" I nodded and sipped my beer "this is exactly why I refuse to do relationships" 

"Maybe I'll just, break up with her and be single for a while. Try to find myself again"

"Not a bad idea honestly" I nodded 

"I don't know" he pouted 

"Well you c-"

"Hey baby, sorry I'm late" the girl from earlier slid next to me in the booth and kissed my cheek 

"Wha-"

She leaned in to whisper "This guy over there won't st-"

"So this is your boyfriend?" Some tall, built, ugly dude slurred as he stood next to our table 

"I am" I nodded and wrapped my arm around her "and you are?" 

"Leaving" she glared "this guy didn't believe me when I told him you were my boyfriend. He told me he could take me home and show me a good time" 

"Aww, I told you not to wear something so sexy" I pouted "now I have to beat this dude's ass if he doesn't leave" I kissed her lips 

"Fine" dude shook his head and walked away, she let out a sigh and relaxed, letting her head drop back onto the booth

"You good?"

"He was fucking creepy! Sorry for springing that on you, but you're the only face in here I recognize and knew your name" 

"It's okay, I'd rather pretend to be someone's boyfriend then have them feel uncomfortable" I shrugged and sipped my beer "this is my friend Jin by the way" 

"Oh, hey" she smiled and reached her hand over for him to shake "I'm Reina"

"Nice to meet you" he smiled and shook her hand 

"So that's your name then?" I asked with a chuckle and took my arm off of her 

"Yup" she smiled "I didn't realize that I hadn't told you my name earlier" 

"Given the circumstances I didn't even think about it" I laughed making her giggle 

"Did you figure it out by the way?"

"She eventually called me, she gave me the wrong address" she laughed and shook her head 

"Did you make it to your sex toy party then?"

"No" I laughed and shook my head 

"Sex toy party?" Jin raised an eyebrow at me, I almost forgot he was there 

"Rachel works for this place called Pure Romance, they sell sex toys and lingerie, she had a party tonight and couldn't make it so she asked me to go. I ended up in Reina's apartment, the wrong apartment apparently" I chuckled 

"And here we are" she smiled making me laugh 

"Oh god" Jin laughed, his phone vibrated and he checked it with a frown "I have to go"

"Good luck" 

"Thanks. Nice meeting you Reina"

"You too" she smiled "he seems nice"

"He is" I nodded "he's my best friend"

"He looked sad"

"Girlfriend problems"

"Oh" she nodded "that's why I don't do relationships" she shook her head 

"Same" 

"Wanna get some food?"

"Sure" I shrugged "Jin and I were supposed to be eating dinner" 

"I'm starving. Lynn ditched me so I came here to have a few drinks and some food" 

I flagged down the waitress for some menus, we ordered our food and fell into a random conversation. It was nice, sitting back, laughing, exchanging goofy stories, drinking, and eating. She was funny, she was smart, she was gorgeous, and she had the same attitude about things that I did. 

Just laid back, go with the flow, and laugh as often as possible. It felt natural, not forced at all which is odd to find in a stranger. 

"I should get going though" 

"Need a ride?"

"Sure" she shrugged "I was just going to get a cab because I expected to be drunker than this" she giggled 

"Me too" I chuckled and stood up, I left the cash on the table and we walked out to my car "want to swap phone numbers?"

"Sure" she nodded as we got into my car, she handed me her phone and I put my number in before starting the engine, she called me so that I could save her number and I drove us back to her apartment. 

"Thanks for the lift" she smiled

"No problem" I smiled back 

"Do you want to come in and fuck?"

My eyes widened, I literally just met her today. I mulled it over for a second "sure" I cut the engine

"Oh? Seriously?"

"Were you not being serious?"

"No, I am. I just wasn't expecting you to say yes" she giggled "let's go"
