The Wrong Party

I know a spot

I parked my car at Tae's and sent a text to Reina, it only took about ten seconds for her to walk out of the house and smile as she got into my car. We were matching. Black shirts, grey sweats, and black sneakers. She had her hair pulled into a high ponytail and even though she was wearing makeup I could still see how tired she was. 

"Hey beautiful" I smiled before putting the car in drive 

"Hey" she smiled "where we off to?"

"You'll see" 

"Rude" she chuckled 

"I promised a date, a lazy one at that" 

"Fair point" she nodded 

"Thank you, by the way"

"For?" She looked over at me, I gave her a quick glance before focusing back on the road

"For agreeing to go on a date with me" 

"Oh" she said quietly and looked out the window

Was that the wrong thing to say? 

"I should be honest about how I'm feeling" she mumbled and looked down at her lap "I love you Yoongs. I'm still absolutely head over heels in love with you. I'm just..hurt. Sometimes I feel like I found my old self and I'm doing better, and other times I feel like I've got the wind knocked out of me all over again. And I don't want you to apologize anymore, you've said it enough and you've continuously proven over the last few months that you mean it. I know you love me, I know you're in love with me. And I know that if I gave you the chance you wouldn't hurt me again. I'm not ready to jump back into a relationship with you yet though"

"I understand" I nodded as I parked the car "I'm just happy you're giving me a chance" 

She smiled at me and nodded her head, she went to take her seat belt off and I stopped her "this isn't where the date is happening. I'm running in for food" 

"Why?" 

"You'll see" I smiled and ran into the restaurant to pick up our food I ordered to-go and then got back into the car 

"Should I be concerned?"

"No" I chuckled and shook my head, I started driving while we listened to music "Can you check my phone for texts from Hoseok?"

"Sure" she picked my phone up and punched in her birth date to unlock it "oh, it's still the same?"

"Yeah" I furrowed my brows "why would I change it?"

"I don't know" she mumbled and after checking my phone she locked it and sat it down "the only message was from Jimin and he said 'have fun' so nothing from Hobi yet" 

"No news is good news right?"

"Yeah" she chuckled, I put my blinker on to turn into the cemetery and she got visibly excited before she started bouncing happily in her seat "Yes! Spooky stuff! Are you trying to seduce me sir?"

"Always" I chuckled making her blush as I parked the car, we got out and I grabbed the food before grabbing a blanket out of the trunk 

"Where do you wanna sit?"

"I know a spot" I smiled and walked towards the mausoleum, I laid the blanket down on the concrete floor and sat down with the food, she looked over some of the names and brushed off some of the cobwebs stuck to the pictures and fake flowers left there by families 

"I feel like I haven't done spooky stuff in forever"

"It's been over a year" 

"I know" she sat across from me and smiled as I handed her a packet of silverware "I'm still surprised you let me drag you to abandoned houses and that you set up a picnic here for me" She giggled making me smile as my heart fluttered at the sound 

"I am too" I chuckled as I started eating "if you had told me three years ago I'd be having a picnic in a cemetery I'd laugh in your face" she laughed and I added "I wouldn't change it though" I shook my head 

"Me either" she smiled wide as she continued eating 

"How's the new job by the way?"

"Not bad" she shrugged "have you found anything yet?"

"I have an interview tomorrow, sounds promising and I'll be back to working from home" 

"Nice, I know you hate being stuck in an office"

"True, but it's also the time away from you and the twins that pisses me off" 

"We'll figure it out" she gave me a soft smile and I practically melted. 

I'm making her smile

I'm making her laugh

I'm making her giggle

I felt happier than I had in months. 

My shoulders finally felt a bit lighter and I felt like I could breathe without gasping for air 

This is all I want for the rest of my life. 

Her and my kids mean everything to me, I hope she knows that.  

After we finished our food, we cleaned up our mess and took it back to the car with the blanket before walking around the cemetery, I'm not sure when it happened, but she held my hand and I don't think she was aware that she did it until I intertwined our fingers. She looked down at our hands and blushed before looking away and continued talking my ear off about some of the history she had found on the place. 

We managed to kill the whole day there, we only headed home because it was dinner time and I still needed to get the twins from Hobi. 

"Thanks for today" she smiled as she opened her door "I had a lot of fun with you, and it meant a lot to me"

"Of course, I had a lot of fun too" I smiled "thank you for coming"

"Have a goodnight and kiss our babies for me?"

"Always" I smiled as she nodded and shut the door, I watched her walk up to Tae's house and go in before I drove off.
