That topic was never brought up again for the next three months.

By this point, Asano was completely used to Karma's clinginess. He found it a normal part of his routine to grumble at every one of hugs and surprise kisses.

They both knew that the three-month deal had cut off weeks ago, but they said nothing of it to each other. There was a silent agreement between them that they both had each other's permissions to talk to each other.

"Asano-kun!" Karma threw himself onto the other student, who grunted in reply.

"You're heavy. Get off."

"Can you help me on some homework later?"

"The last time you asked me that, you ended up falling asleep, which thoroughly wasted my time."

"Alright then! See you later!"

Asano sighed. "Even though that was obviously a 'no'..."

. . .

Karma was in the library after classes, humming a tune. An open book called, "The Basics of Geometry: Your Guide to Starting in the Math World" sat open wide in front of him. Its contents weren't being read, though— the reader was busy waiting for a certain someone.

"Isn't math your strongest subject?"

Karma lifted his chin and smiled widely at the glaring Asano.

"Hm. I was just passing time," He replied, closing the book. "Have a seat."

"Which subject do you need help with?"

"Japanese," Karma grumbled with a pout. "I don't know if this thing is Japanese anymore."

"Such a simple subject," Asano took out his books and flipped quickly to the required page.

"That's 'cause you're Asano-kun."

"I don't understand what that means, but let's start," And so, the private tutoring session started.

"This is simply reading and finding evidence for your answers—" Asano looked up from his book and caught Karma staring at him with a small smile. "You're not even paying attention, are you..."

"Mm. It's so boring," Karma whined, leaning his head against the table. "I can't believe you have enough brain power to just study, study, study."

"Isn't that what you do at home? I saw all those books in your room when I visited."

"Ah. You caught me."

"Hmph." Asano placed a hand on Karma's head, and quickly retracted it. "You need to study if you want to go against me again."

"I already beat you once, though?"

"Urk..." Asano sighed. "Well, if you can't solve problems as easy as these, you'll be a 1000 years too early to beat me again."

"So...you're gonna help me beat you again?"

"It would really help if you stopped driving in the fact that I've lost to someone like you." Asano muttered. "So. Do you need help or not? Because I have things to do."

Karma stood up and sat next to the other student. "I'm a little sleepy..."

Asano rolled his eyes. "I don't have time to be your pillow—"

Flomp.

And just like that, the redhead managed to have another turn at the shoulder. He was feeling a lot more tired than usual. His mother had somehow managed to break through his thick door, and he had stayed up all night gluing the pieces together. He didn't even try using his father's money; that dirty cash didn't belong to him.

"You...what are all these scars and bandages?"

"Hm? Oh," Karma smiled. "Mother dearest has a lot of energy...I think she's actually going for my life."

"Unsurprisingly."

"But y'know, I really held back," Karma said, rubbing his head. "I made sure not to hit her too hard, and I dodged almost all of her attacks. I didn't use any weapons against her, either. I did good, right?"

"Are you fishing for compliments?"

"Yeah!"

Asano sighed. "That doesn't mean you should..." He coughed, looking away with a red face. "...hurt...yourself..."

No response.

Asano realized that Karma had fallen asleep. Again. He released a long sigh, and crossed his arms. His eyelids drooped as his head swayed slightly.

And before he knew it, he fell asleep on the other student.

. . .

Asano stopped his alarm and sat up, following his daily morning routine of glaring at the bedpost. His hair was slightly tousled as his legs reached for the floor beneath him.

After washing up quickly and changing into his uniform, he slung his bag over his shoulders and walked downstairs.

"A fine morning to you, Asano-kun." His father, the man himself, sat at the dining table with a newspaper in his hands.

Their relationship had grown saltier than ever before, but the younger didn't mind; he was used to his father's ignorant behavior.

"Hm."

"Your...'friends' have been telling me that you've been spending your time with Karma-kun," The man continued taking a sip of his morning coffee. "A...student of 3-E."

"What of it?"

"You've changed, Asano-kun. You simply found the thought of Class 3-E disgusting before, like I had trained you to."

"I'm not your dog. I have my own opinions and beliefs," The student snapped. "You can find yourself another dog to train."

"I see."

"As long as you understand."

The younger Asano gave the housemaids a quick nod of gratitude as they gave him his meal for the day, and left the house.

Meanwhile, the principal inside set his cup down with a small clink. His lips curved into a small smile as his secretary entered the room.

"I hope you have everything ready?"

"Yes, sir."

"Excellent," He turned his head calmly towards the window, where he saw his son walking with his phone in hand. "Now, Asano-kun. Perhaps I've been a bit light with you lately.

"It's time you learned not to bark at your master without a bite."
