(About a month from the last chapter)
Luna's POV
My lightsabers go up and down, deflecting laser blasts. Beside me, Ahsoka does the same. We were on Felucia each standing on a walker, deflecting incoming laster fire.
My com starts to buzz and I answer it without stopping the continuous motion of deflecting blasts.
"Luna, Ahsoka where are you?!" My master's voice comes through the comlink.
"About 6 clicks east, Master," I report, steadily deflecting blasts, feeling the force guide my hands.
"We've engaged the enemy and we've got them on the run." Ahsoka joins in.
"They're here to extract us. We're leaving!"
"But we can't retreat now, Master! We've broken through!" I exclaim, surprsied.
"We're outnumbered. You must evacuate. That is an order!"
I hesitate, glancing at Ahsoka.
"Master Skywalker taught me never to let up when the tinnies are on the run," Ahsoka yells.
"They are running back here to regroup with the main force! You are putting your troops' lives in danger, young one. Both of you will get on the gunship when we arrive."
I wince at my Master's tone. I knew him well enough to know that I was in big trouble for disobeying his orders. Again. Too late to start following them now...
Several gunships arrive but I ignore them, following Ahsoka's lead and continuing to deflect blasts-- until they land in front of us, blocking the rest of the way forwards
Ahsoka stops, "What are you doing!?" She yells.Anakin and Obi-wan step out of the gunship while others run on.
"Can't you see they're retreating?" I agree desperately."We can push through!" Ahsoka nods, gesturing to the lessening fire.
"They're about to overrun you, Ahsoka. You just can't see it." Anakin frowns at both of us, folding his arms.
Obi-wan glares at me, "Get in the ship and follow orders."I sigh, "Bu-"
"Now." Obi-wan's voice was a low growl, dripping with anger.
Ahsoka and I follow our Masters onto the gunships and we hover above as the walkers below us explode. I feel my heart drop and I glance at Obi-wan, "I'm so sorry..."
~~~~Back at the Temple~~~~~
Obi-wan had taken me back to our quarters. We were to report to the Jedi Council soon.
"What were you thinking?!" He growls at me.
"I didn-"
"You did not only risk your own life but the lives of others too." Obi-wan sighs, "Luna, winning battles isn't everything. Your-"
"-Troops' lives are more important." I finish, "I'm sorry, Master."
Obi-wan continues to frown, "Another minute later, and your troops would have died! YOU would have died. I know that you're better than this, Luna. I'm very disappointed in you."
I avert my eyes to the ground, feeling my heart sink to the ground. I had disappointed my master. I had never felt so ashamed.
Obi-wan continues, his tone evidently tired and disappointed, "I expect more from you the next time you're on a mission." He states, "Ahsoka will be receiving this lecture from Anakin too."
