Thomas' P.O.V

I spent some more time with Teresa and although it was nice to have her back I still had to deal with Brenda.

Teresa was the only one that I truly loved and so I had to call it quits with whatever I had with Brenda.

I got up and told Teresa I would be back soon. I spotted Brenda sitting by her lonesome near the other builders.

"Hey, um, we need to talk."

"Hey." She said gloomily.

This was going to be harder than I anticipated. Brenda could be really cool sometimes and I really liked her, but Teresa was the one for me.

"You already know what Teresa and I had before she, you know, "died" right?" I said to her.

She replied with a small nod.

"You know I loved her right?" I continued.

She nodded again.

"Well, I still love her and I want to be with her. It's not that I don't want to be with you, it's just I think she's better for me." I explained.

The look on her face was heartbreaking. I could see tears in her eyes and I immediately felt bad.

"I hope you can understand one day." I said before I got up and walked away.

Before I left, she stopped me.

"Thomas?" She said.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"Tell Teresa I'm sorry, I didn't mean what I said the other day." She explained.

I nodded and walked off.

I looked back over my shoulder and saw her wiping her eyes. I felt really bad, but what had been done, had been done.

"Hey." I greeted Teresa, when I walked back over to her.

"Hi, what did you talk to her about?" She asked me.

I didn't really want to explain this to her at the moment, but she wouldn't let me leave until I did.

"Well, Brenda and I were together when you were allegedly dead, so I broke up with her, because I want to be with you." I explained.

"I can't believe you would do that for me." She smiled.

"But is she alright?" Teresa asked as her smile fell.

I didn't know how to answer that. When I left she was crying, but I knew if I told Teresa she would feel bad for Brenda.

"Yeah, she was fine." I lied. I never lied to Teresa before and it didn't make me feel so great knowing I did.

"Good." Teresa smiled once again.

"She also apologized about what she said about you being dead. She didn't mean it." I told her.

"That was nice of her." Teresa partially smiled.

We were quiet for a little bit until I resumed the conversation.

"I never really understood how you are alive. I mean, I love that you're alive, but how?" I questioned.

The last thing I could remember was her pushing me out of the way as the ceiling fell. Then her last words.

"Well, when I was saying the words to you I was about to pass out from the pain. The ceiling fell on my midsection and below, but it didn't do much extensive damage. WICKED found me, treated me, and I found the flat trans and now I'm here." Teresa explained.

"Wait, you just found the flat trans?" I asked.

"Yup." She replied.

"No guards, no hidden rooms, nothing?" I was starting to get worried.

"Absolutely nothing." She replied calmly.

"Why, is something wrong?" She seemed uneasy now.

I thought fearfully until the thought came to my mind.

"Teresa, they wanted you to come to paradise. They waited to release the griever so you could come here. Their plan was to kill you, kill you with us."
