I stared dumbfounded at the wall as I took my wand and ran off towards, scared as fuck, gasping with my mind numb with the thought of nothing but the last sentence.
"I might not be the only one. They will hurt Verylssia?!" I mumbled to myself, continuing towards the previous place from where I as thrown into the dark-nebullic region.

"Wilburt! Stop!" came the voices of Vess from behind chasing me along with Eloria.

"Go away!" I shouted back pacing up my speed, as I smashed into an invisible wall.

"You should listen to your master, Wilburt if you want to live, as I have warned you earlier." came the voice from my right side as Headmaster Orlandous walked towards me.

"We told you stay away from this place, didn't we?" asked Orlandous politely, as Vess and the others caught up to me, refraining from speaking after noticing Headmaster.

"Y-Yes, but they threatened to harm... hurt..." I was choked under a jumble of words still catching my breath, as he called me reassuring me,

"Nothing will happen to anyone as long as they are within the school. They also know that, hence tried to lure you here." he stroked his beard inquiring, "But, how did you know that message was for you?" His voice always maintained the calm nature, when he was not joking around.

"Well, if I remember correctly," I said stroking my hair, "the mage trying to hunt me down spoke up again and again of how I truly belonged to them and their ancestors, I don't really comprehend that part amidst all that chaos."

I replied in a light tone but Orlandous seemed a bit serious stroking his fluffy beard, as he spoke up, "Well in any case, you have to remain within the school, and avoid such impulse actions. They cannot harm you, just manage enough magic to send you threat messages." as he walked away disappearing into thin air.

"You idiot!" came a voice from behind as Vess hugged me from behind, shouting at me while shivering like a leaf at the same time, "Don't go off running on your own! How much trouble do you think you cause!"
My brain was clouded by the pretty firm hug so I replied, "Sorry." covering her soft but cold hands with mine.

"Aww, what a couple..." teased Eloria from behind as we separated jerkily in protest saying all sorts of things like, 'it was a master-familiar moment' and all as she scoffed away back to her room. So did we.

It has been four months since that incident and nothing of sorts has happened again. I was preparing for today's lectures which we had got pretty used to despite the tiring schedule, as the bathroom door clicked open,

"Oye! Pass my clothes!" came a voice from the creaked open gate.

"That's the fifth time this week! And this is the fifth day of the week. How can you always forget them?" I growled irritated, as the door slammed open, from inside came the toweled Wilburt complaining,

"Because I am not used to changing in the bathroom! And a certain someone is having problem in seeing me like this." He looked at me resting his hands on his waist.

"Why don't you just leave the room like we both mutually used to?" he questioned my ethics but I couldn't make up any replies seeing him like that,

"T-That's not important right now! Wear s-something first!" I stammered looking away from him. Shuffling sounds came from his side as he grunted, zipping his evergreen jacket, as the blushing went away from my face, for the time being.

We hurried off to today's first lecture to grab the front row as today we were going to learn the fifth level of spells, unique to everyone and in our case, yet to be discovered.

"Alright everyone, you all have learnt the four levels of spells very well and this fifth level is not difficult." explained professor Augustus moving his teaching wand to and fro making random movements in the air, "You just have to remember that a master and its familiar are connected not only by their souls but also share the same wavelengths of the core matter you can control. So you just have to summon the power to control the core while the wand helps you concentrate and amplify it on the object you are focusing on."

The explanation part was short today was all about practicing and controlling your power.

"Here are some freshly plucked blobnuts for you to caste upon and please," he said glaring at us from behind his square specs, "Avoid conflict."
We both gave him an awkward smile.

"I will go first." I said to Wilburt taking out my wand. At least we don't fight at these things now.I took a deep breath, concentrating on my inner self as I casted the spell keeping in mind the blobnut in front of me,
"Intendus imperius!" and swished the wand lightly but rapidly.
After the spell was casted I saw that the blobnut was melted, gradually retaining its solid but in a deformed state.

"Oh! So you can melt things, temporarily only to leave them deformed." Wil laughed at me holding his stomach, not because he was laughing that hard but to protect it from any sort of ambush from me. In these months we have got to know each other better and that included our attacking styles too.

"I heal and you deform. That definitely makes a pair!" This time he burst into laughter as I stomped my foot on the ground in frustration.

"Why don't you do it?" said I replacing the blobnut with a new one.
He cleared his throat and taking a deep breath recited, "Intendus imperius!" as the blobnut remained still. We stared at it for some time but it was still as it was, not even moving an inch.

"Look your matter of control is nothing!" I mocked him laughing at top of my lungs, as the other students glanced at us thinking we are probably mad. He pulled my hair tightly to stop my laughing, obviously irritated like me as the big day turned out to be useless.

I sighed looking back to observe the time as I saw Mr. Augustus glancing at us from the corner of his eyes pretending to read an inverted book. I thought of asking him about the matter which does such things but unfortunately he had no answer, or so he told me. He said that it was possible our potential had still to be tapped into, or in some cases a special core doesn't exist.
That really did freak me out.

While I was sitting, hopeless Wilburt shouted in excitement, "Yes, the blobnut changed!". I moved my head quickly towards the blobnut. Wilburt was the stubborn type, while I usually went into depression for not being able to ace a task.

I glanced at the blobnut which had changed as he questioned, "But what exactly happened to it?" as one the student shouted, "It's rotten..." and a group burst into laughter, but Wil had a serious face on, or so I thought.

"Hmm...rotten, I will have to test it on a living being to find out exactly what it is it I just did," as he jolted towards his archenemy, "Hey caramel, you mind staying where you are for a bit."
I had to pull him out to avoid any injuries he might have endured from caramel, and of course, the hot-headed Eloria.

We were just about to leave the class as Orlandous made his appearance, again from the air, clapping his hands twice to turn the attention towards him, "Hello everyone! Seems like the learning is going fine with all of you," he eyes at me, "Almost. All of you." he adds.

The students gathered towards him as Mr. Augustus stood beside him, holding his hands formally together as headmaster continued, "So, as you know every year there are the games, which interested, and not to mention compatible, students take part in and showing their perfect skills try to win by defeating others." He paused for a moment to observe the expressions, "But, as you are still first year students, you will still be the audience as the selections begins from second year, so tomorrow will be the event inaugurating ceremony and you all are invited to meet the various competitors from other schools, and not to mention stuff yourself with the royal free food." He shrugs off making a joke.

Students return to the dorm talking about how exciting the event would be, while I shrug asking Verylssia compulsively, "Hey, for your information, we are not participating in that thing next year."

"Why not?" she asks slightly diverted from her dull mood.

"You didn't read the events in it. One of which is a duels between familiars and I don't want to die soon." I replied the obvious question.

Her shoulders droop as she replied sarcastically, "Well, yes. Not that you are of any use anyways." letting out a sigh and continuing her discussion with Eloria once Benedict had left, as we retired into our rooms.

"Hey get off my bed. You got yours!" saying so she started to push me off her bed quite passionately.

"Hey! Hey! Why the sloppy mood. Is it because we will not take part in the tournament?" I asked sliding off the bed.

"Part of it." said she burying her face in her pillow while swaying her thin legs to and fro in air, lying down in the school uniform.

"Anyway change up. I will not go to dump our clothes at late night." I dodged to answer her and lately growing as a responsible familiar I took the clothes for laundering. Not that I am obedient enough to do it every day. We take turns, with mostly her tiring off and me taking her turns, like today.

"Oh yeah! I forgot," she said grunting under the pillow, "Eloria told me take hers as well, so please, do it if you want to."

Maybe today got the most of her, after all she was waiting for this day to finally find her core matter, but it rather ended in disappointment, so I calmly replied, "Yeah ,sure."

"But next is your turn for sure." I tried to lighten the mood by talking normally as she glumly replied, "Yeah, please do it today." Still her face buried deep in her pillow.

"By the way where is she? Eloria." I inquired.

"She's staying at Benedict's tonight." She replied

"Oh. I see. They both are really like space-time, eh." I gave out a loud sigh as she clearly made a confused face raising it from the pillow.

I explained, "I mean, just like space and time are intertwined and always go hand in hand." But understanding the terms from my world made her grumpily bury her head again. I had to somehow uplift her as I saw a hope.

"So...What are they doing together at night?" I asked curiously snickering at her as she suddenly returned to her normal self somehow, getting up on her elbows blushing while shouting, "It's not what you are thinking they are doing, pervert! She's just asking for his help in some assignments. H-He's a senior after all." Her face was bright red, as I caught the essence of what she meant, "A-A-and we live in the same room. H-Have we ever did s- something l-like that."

If anymore blood reaches her head, I bet it is going to explode, as I interrupted her stuttering self,
"Oh! What are you talking about? I never once thought of what you are talking about." I looked down at her, mockingly widening my eyes, "Tell me pervert girl, do you want to do the things with person living under your roof? Huh!"

"Huh?" she stared at me startled, her face plum red, as she shouted stammering, throwing her pillow at me, "H-How dare you! G-Get away and d-do your chores..."

"But today's your turn. Remember?" I said teasing her as she started to grab another pillow, "G-GET OUT!" she shouted still flushing.

"But why's your face red, pervert girl? HUH!?" I grinned, as she touched her face burying it into the pillow still shouting in muffled voice for me to go away. I guess I got carried away. I left after confirming she was alright now, just a little flustered. I pressed my hand to my rapidly beating heart, as if it would just explode.

"How did I manage to say all that?" I mumbled to myself as I took Eloria's clothes as well from her basket to give them for laundering.

I entered the laundering sector where large cauldrons were spinning in midair, with clothes in them, just like the washing machines back on earth, which I once saw at shop. I gave the clothes to Miss Fisher who was in charge of this sector and get going. I was walking towards my dorm when I noticed a female figure in the forests ahead which I confused for Vess. I decided to go check if it really was her moving towards the forest, as I bumped into someone coming from the other side,

"Hey watch out!" yelled a familiar voice.

"Eloria?!"
