Chapter 18: broken bones and betrayal

"Wake up mama!" Heaven hollered into my ear as she picked my nose. "Eww I'm up grossy!" I exclaimed laughing at her. He and giggled her way off my bed. Emerson walked in my room and picked heaven up. "Morning bish" he gave me a toothy smile. "Morning bum" I replied in my tired voice. "Get upy upy" Emerson said putting heaven on his shoulders. I just then noticed he was shirtless and toned as shit. A v-line so defined and abs oh man those abs. Other than his body his jaw line was really cut. Very sharp? So sharp it could cut me. He was an attractive guy but like most stories it doesn't work out that way. I pried my eyes off of him and onto balefire. "Hey boy" I said playfully seeing him jump for me. Bale jumped on the bed and woke me up with a big lick. "Let's go downstairs" heaven pouted out her lip. She always was such an impatient person. "Okay race you down!" Emerson called out already half way down the stairs. I smiled as I watched him pick her up and toss her onto the living room couch. Balefire ran after them.

"Mall today?" Emerson asked as we sat on the couch as I braided heavens long hair. "Yes!" Heaven smiled and I nodded my head. "Bale can come it's only an outlet" Emerson informed us patting balefire's back. "Okay" I smiled and went to finish getting ready.

"We're here!" Emerson smiled pulling into a large mall. "Wow" heaven said as her jaw dropped. It was just a mall but heaven had never visited one before. Balefire and I got out and then Emerson and heaven. Emerson and heaven took off for the girls stores and I roamed the sidewalk with bale. We were just about to turn the corner when I heard a loud bang and pain filling my side. Balefire barked as loud as he could. My eyes travelled down to an open wound and a bullet sticking out. The last thing I saw before my eyes closed and I hit the ground was a man running over to me. Everything went black.

"MOMMY!" Heaven screamed as I rushed through the emergency doors balefire at my side. "AMIA" I screamed tears ran down my cheeks. I spun around and saw one person I had hoped to never see again. Beau. "You have no right to be here fucker" I cursed at him eyes fathering as I lowered heaven down to behind me where she couldn't hear my conversation. Beau snapped up and shoved his face in mine. "Don't you tell me where I should be when all I did was try and help!" He snapped and my eyes dropped to the ground. He was talking about maverick. I never left maverick in good terms. We were all hanging out until they pulled out a bong. I knew I didn't want to and they sure could read my expression. I told them no and they didn't listen so I'm that it broke out in full on fist fights. I ran out with my eyes pooling with tears. That was the last of maverick I saw. "I'm sorry...." Beau stepped in on my relaxed memories. "Forget about it" I snapped and I grabbed heaven and ran down to amias room. "Sir you need to stay out please only family under the buren's are aloud." The nurse said pushing my chest. "IM THE CLOSEST GODDAMN THING SHES GOT TO FAMILY LET US THE FUCK IN" I snapped and in shock she moved. I raced into the room my heart racing. The heart monitor was beeping clearly and she was heathy but not conscious. My eyes filling with tears once again. "Emerson you need to breath" beau suggested. "I'm not leaving her with you" I snapped and propped heaven on the chair closets to her mom. "Mama" heaven sobbed. I looked back at heaven with pain in my eyes. I forced myself away not being able to handle it all. Then it went silent... Doctors rushed inside and pulled heaven away. Forgetting about beau and heaven I raced down that hallway faster than I had down the hallways of my old highschool when I got caught. I latched onto her bed and I followed everyone. I looked down and saw the heart monitor blank. Black screen kind of blank. Amias face was covered. "NO!" I screamed stopping in my tracks as I grabbed my face and fell to the floor. Every single laugh, smile, tear, memory with Amia filled my head. I thought about how many times Amia was heartbroken because of some asshole. How much pain she didn't deserve just like today. I heard police behind me and I turned to see them rush into the room where heaven and beau were. They teared beau out of the hospital room and put him in hand cuffs. I ran down the hall tears flooded my face. "What's going on" I asked as I grabbed heaven. "He is responsible for the shooting" one officer said and everything went blank. My knees gave out and my eyes shut. I could only hear the faint cry from heaven once my head hit the ground. Every possible thought that could go through my mind was. Then my eyes shot open and all those thoughts built up adrenaline. I jumped up off the floor and charged for beau the officers saw me and oddly let me do this. I beat him shitless. "YOU SICK FUCKING BASTARD" I screamed into every punch. "STOP" beau screamed over my rant. "IM NOT THE SHOOTER! I don't even know how to use a gun" beau smiled and I knew he was lying. "NO YOU ASSHOLE" I screamed punching him to the point he was so beat he couldn't talk. I snatched heaven and ran down to amias now dark room. I felt tears fall but not yet sobs. Heaven jumped out of my arms and raced over to Amia. "Mama was the only person who cared" she cried sobs sinking into her tone. "I'm sorry heaven it's my fault, I offered to go to the mall" a tear escaped my eyes like a storm after that. "No it's not, it's beau and it doesn't matter anymore" her sobs spreading across the room. But at the moment heaven was about to touch her moms hand chaos had begun again. Doctors ran in and nurses guided us out but this time without a struggle. I was silent and all I could do was watch. I couldn't do anything for her. I held heaven and soothed her sobs. "Its okay" I whispered. We both thought it was over until the doctor came to us. "We have a heartbeat" he smiled and our sobs turned into tears and then smiles. "You can come see her " the doctor offered and without a word we ran to her room. She was sitting up and drinking some water when her eyes met mine. "Amia" I smiled and her eyes filled with joy. "Emerson, heaven" she cried and we rushed to her. "Amia I'm so sorry" tears swelling in my eyes. Before she could respond someone I thought I'd never see again walked into that dull hospital room. The one person Amia warned me about, chad. The one person that made her cry even by saying his name. The thoughts of her crying and hugging me because she was scared of him rushed through my head. The room was heated with glares from every angle until he spoke. His raspy voice from years ago had turned into a deep sexy voice. "Amia I I can't believe this happened, I I rushed here on my private jet with well you know her but uhm Emily" he smiled motioning for the little whore to walk in. She was shy and must I say stunning. Even though I had no interest in the females I could still point out a stunning women when I saw one. Her eyes were green and her hair was jet black. It was short and cut just to her shoulders. She had a mini skirt on and a crop top that said "you're mine". Something that shouldn't be infront of a 7 year old. I covered heavens eyes as she walked in but my eyes were still bright and following her every move. She caught my stare and smiled with a tiny giggle. I smirk and looked back to Amia who was almost in tears and not in joy this time. Two bitches in the same room was overwhelming. "Hey patty" Emily spoke and her voice was so soft and sexy I almost dropped to the floor. "I'm not patience my names Amia you bitch, both of you get out" Amia snapped and with that Emily was already onto of her bed. "Don't you disrespect another women or for that matter another person like that again" Emily spat. Her bare legs were tanned and spread apart over Amia who was now almost close to punching her shitless. "DISRESPECT!? DONT YOU COME INTO MY HOSPITAL IN THAT SKANKY OUTFIT LOOKING FOR RESPECT AND WITH YOUR HISTORY AND WITH THAT CUNT BAG OVER THERE,GET THE FUCK OUT" Amia screamed punching her shoulder to a degree Emily had to hold it. Her sexy legs slid off the bed and my eyes couldn't stop watching her. Her perfection was hard to miss but I couldn't be like that. I felt attracted to Emily more than chad and that was weird for me. "I saw your eyes, you too get out emerson leave heaven with me" Amia snapped tears in her eyes. I knew she felt disowned and she knew I was attracted to her enemy and the person that brought her down to the point Amia almost closed her eyes on her own terms. "I'm..." Amia cut me off "out" she snapped and I got up silently and walked out. Ugh fuck I mess everything up. I sat in the waiting room and there I saw that goddess again. I kept my eyes planted to her. I couldn't move. No stop it emerson! My head snapped but my eyes didn't. She sent me a toothy smile and a wink. I looked around for chad and I didn't see him. "He went to unpack our stuff in the hotel" Emily smiled and I couldn't help but smile back. Wtf is wrong with you! Amia, you best friend told you to get out because of this and now your talking to her! My mind sent me bad vibes but my body pulled me towards her. I sat beside her and smiled. "Why are you here?" I asked with a faded smile. "I know she hates me and all but I did hear about you" she smirked and I couldn't help but blush. Stop emerson! Do you even care about Amia? You best friend the only person who understood you when you were confused!! Her looks took those thoughts away. "Want to get out of here?" I smiled with a wink. What did I just say?! No! "Oh frisky! Yeah let's get out of here" she smiled brushing her index finger down my cheek. I followed her and we drove down to a cute little motel. I payed and you know....

"Mommy? Where emerson?" Heaven cried. "I don't know he-" the doctor interrupted me. "You'll actually be able to leave today, very minor indent to the skin and you should be good to go within an hour" the doctor smiled and winked at heaven with a funny face. Heaven laughed and o smiled in return. "Thank you so much doc" I smiled and he walked out to his other patient. Heaven jumped onto my bed and played with my hair. "You scared me mama" she played with my hair. "Mama is okay now baby bear" I smiled hugging her.

I heard a knock at my wide open hospital door. "Hello?" A very tired but worried Zachary came in. "Hey!" I exclaimed. "Oh my god I thought you were dead and oh who's this and your gorgeous and she's gorgeous! You scared me! I miss you" he ranted hugging me and I smiled. "I missed you too and this is now my little one heaven" I smiled rubbing her back. Zach pulled up a chair and we all told some funny stories and talked about Mavericks passing. Then the doctor came in and asked us if we knew where emerson was. "I saw him walk out with Emily...she's such a skank! Oh sorry forget you even heard that!" Zachary blurted out to heaven and she nodded giggling. "Amia you okay?" Zach asked looking at my now tensed face and balled up fists. "No I'm ready to go and find this trucker" I snapped and unhooked myself from the machines and gave heaven a piggy back. Zachary followed close behind and I picked balefire up from the nurses office. With a few goodbyes we were off to the only place I knew Emerson knew about taking people for hook ups...honey moon motel. I parked and jumped out and told zach to watch heaven in the car. As I walked to the main building for his number a giggling Emerson backed out of the front door of room 402. I stood therein silence and watched him not notice me and then he saw me. "Hey" I snapped looking him dead in the eye. His smile faded and Emily came outside. "Amia...I-" I cut him off "no I know damn well you can't explain because you saw the slut and you immediately thought oh she ruined my friends life I'll just fuck her for the fun of it?! You can find yourself a new place your stuff will be outside by 6 by whore" I spat and walked back to the car not even glancing back. I drove home and poured his stuff out side a shave Zachary emersons old room.
