"But I don't want to go!" Carrie retorted, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes at Talor. They'd been in a stand off since earlier that morning when Talor had told her there was a full-moon that night. Taylor wanted Carrie to leave since they didn't want her seeing them change while Carrie wanted to see their wolf form.

"Well, you have to because I don't really have another place to go." Talor huffed, they were growing more and more annoyed as the conversation continued. "Why can't you just go stay with Rebecca or Charlie? You haven't seen them in a long time."

"I want to see what you're like when you change. We've been together for five years and I've known about you changing for half of that!" They were both aware of how the argument was repeating itself. Who was going to step down and acknowledge that it was going nowhere, was the question. Talor had more of an ego but Carrie had a stubborn streak that caused her to not back down, even when it was obvious that she wasn't going to win.

"What if I don't want you to?"

"One day you're going to slip up and wouldn't you rather it be under your control rather than because your phone glitched or you forgot to check the calendar? You'll feel better when you can control when I see your wolf form," Talor opened their mouth to respond and then closed it. Carrie did raise a good point.

"Fine. But you have to promise not to laugh at me," A wide grin spread across Carrie's face. She threw her arms around Talor's neck and Talor playfully groaned. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

To get ready for the transformation they went over to Talor's parents' house and Talor had them tell Carrie what happened when her dad found out about her mom's change. Needless to say at the time it wasn't pretty and someone almost died but they were quick to assure the younger couple it was only because everyone was confused. Which hopefully won't happen as Talor is skilled at controlling changes.

Carrie and Talor's dad went into a separate room to talk about with change and still enjoying spending time with their partner. While Talor and their mom went outside to, allegedly, try and gauge how strong the moon would be. Carrie and David both knew they'd be listening through a wall.

"You have to stay calm," David said as he led Carrie into the kitchen. "When Rachel first turned I swear she could smell my fear and started tearing everything up trying to find what was making a member of her pack scared." At Carrie's surprised face he quickly added, "Nothing was damaged badly. We needed a new couch and had to replace all of the rugs in the lower floor but it wasn't too bad. Talor knows the story, I'm surprised they didn't tell you that one to make you not want to see the change."

"Uh, what were you saying about being in a pack though? Talor's never mentioned that before," Carrie grabbed an orange from the fruit basket in the table and started peeling it. Her feet tapped out uneven rhythms on the floor nervously. She wanted to see Talor's wolf form, but it scared her a little knowing that if she did something wrong someone else might get hurt. She could possibly get hurt.

David smiled gently as if he could read her mind (plausible, if there are werewolves there's got to be something that can read minds) and threw away the peeled orange skin. "You've heard of wolf packs?" Carrie nodded and he continued, "Werewolves have them too. They aren't just made up of any wolf born into it or are somehow integrated, instead they pick the people in it. Er, actually pick isn't the right word. I think really it's their subconscious deciding who they want to protect and live the rest of their life with. Rachel explained it one time and Talor tried as well but it's a complicated subject.

"Anyway, Rachel actually warned me before Talor was born that Talor might not choose us to be in their pack. It's rare but not all kids love their parents enough to consider them pack." He chuckled and grinned at her, "My God, I thought Talor hated us by how much they cried during the night." Carrie giggled a little and the tapping ceased. Talor wouldn't hurt her, especially if Carrie was considered a part of her pack and she knew how to calm them down. Kind of.
