Jennifer's POV

Perrie's infectious laugh filled Harry's hospital room, Zayn reaching out quickly to catch the box of chips that was wobbling precariously on her knee as a result of her laughing. I shot a glance at Harry, he was smiling at Zayn and Perrie, absentmindedly picking at his chips before making eye contact with me. I smiled softly at him, a gesture that he returned. I sighed as I wiped my mouth with the small paper napkin before tossing my rubbish into the small bin at Harry's bedside. I leant forwards, enclosing one of Harry's hands within the two of mine. I love you he mouthed at me before smiling the way I loved him smiling, where one dimple would appear in his left cheek and his smile slightly lopsided.

"Do you remember that Harry?" Zayn interupted the moment me and Harry were sharing, a wide smile across his face.

"Sorry, what?" Harry said, squeezing my hand as he focused his gaze upon Zayn as if to reassure me that although he was no longer looking at me, I was still at the forefront of his mind.

"At the creek that time where Louis was on the tire swing but it broke and he fell into the water," Zayn repeated, his eyes were glistening as he reminisced upon times gone by and part of me wished I had been there to be part of the memories that were looked back upon with such fondness.

"It would only happen to him," Harry laughed, his eyes closing ever so slightly as he leant his head back, letting low chuckles escape his lips.

Gradually, conversation died down and Harry visably tired, his eyelids drooping almost completely closed before he would force himself to reopen them, making his face resemble a startled puppy.

"We should probably head off," Perrie suggested, noticing Harry's need for sleep. Zayn nodded, standing up and shrugging on his coat.

"Are you needing a lift back to halls?" Perrie asked me, slinging her bag over her left shoulder and looping her arm around Zayn's.

"I should probably stay here, but thank you," I replied, dragging the seat Perrie had been sat on closer to me and kicking up my feet onto it.

"Jen," Harry said, turning his attention away from his departing guests and onto me, "go, I'll be fine, you need to get a decent night's sleep, have a shower and come back feeling fresh tomorrow," he insisted, holding my hand and rubbing his thumb over the back of it.

"Are you saying I smell?" I said, faking hurt by pushing out my bottom lip.

"Maybe..." Harry smirked, squeezing my hand softly

"Fine," I sighed, standing up and leaning over to Harry who was sat up, propped against pillows in his bed, "only if you're sure."

"I'm positive," he replied, smiling gently at me and twirling a loose strand of my hair between his fingers.

"I love you," I whispered, pressing my lips to his and letting them linger for slightly longer than usual.

"I love you too," Harry replied.

I couldn't sleep. I had done as Harry had said to, I had showered, had a lazy evening and painted my nails. But now that I tried to get to sleep, I just couldn't. Harry's situation, my conversation with Zayn and my kiss with Niall kept replaying round and round in my head. A wave of guilt washed through me, making me feel queasy, my head began to hurt from over-thinking and my room seemed to be getting hotter second by second. I sighed, slinging my legs out of bed and walking to the bathroom, splashing ice cold water over my face to try and drag me out of the uneasy daze I had fallen into.

Before I knew it, I found my slipper clad feet pacing down the corridor, coming to a stop outside Niall's room and, before I could process what exactly I was doing, I was raising my arm and knocking on his door. The door was pulled open, revealing a tried, deshevelled and topless Niall behind it. His hair was sticking up in all directions, his sweats hanging low on his hips as he peered round the edge of the door.

"Jenny?" he asked, squinting as the bright light of the corridor contrasted the darkness of his room.

"Sorry, I didn't realise you'd be asleep, I just wanted to have a chat," I sighed, turning to head back to my room, already deciding that I'd try and talk to Niall before I left for the hospital in the morning.

"No, no it's fine, come in," he assured me, opening his door wider and allowing me to step inside, flicking on the light switch. I sat cautiously on the end of his bed, looking around the familiar room.

"What did you want to talk about?" Niall asked, pulling a hoddie over his head before sitting cross legged right in the centre of his bed.

"Just stuff, just making sure we're okay." I replied, looking straight at him. His blue eyes drew away from mine and stared at his patterened duvet, "Niall?"

"Yeah, we're fine, I said that didn't I?" he said, harshness evident in his voice, it wasn't the Niall I was used to seeing.

"I know you did, but I haven't actully seen you in person since... you know," I said,  blush rising to my cheeks. Niall sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Yeah no, sorry Jenny, I don't know, I don't know what I was thinking. You and Harry are made for each other and I won't stand in the way of that, I promise." he said sincerely.

"Thank you," I murmered quietly, smiling genuinely at him.

"How is he, Harry I mean?" Niall asked, kicking his legs out in front of him, playing with the strings of his hoodie.

"It's hard to say, he seems okay, better at least, I'm just so scared he'll disappear back into his shell," I sighed, tracing the patterns of Niall's duvet with my index finger.

"How about I come with you tomorrow? I haven't visited as much as I should have," Niall said, I could tell he felt bad and the thought of Harry seeing a face that wasn't Anne's, Gemma's, Zayn's, Perrie's or mine pleased me.

"I'd really like that," I replied, Niall grinned and pulled me into a hug.

"I'll see you in the morning then, and as I said, we're totally okay, I can promise you that. Get some sleep and we'll grab some breakfast on the way to the hospital in the morning," he suggested.

"Sounds perfect," I said, standing up and walking towards his door, "bye Niall."

"By Jenny."

After that I slept soundly, falling into a deep slumber straight away, a weight feeling as if it had been lifted off my shoulders.
