~time is everything we don't have~September 14th
Luke's been in the hospital for a little while, and things were going smoothly as far as Luke's health. He was being discharged today, but still prescribed meds, and told to take it easy. Since it's been a while since Julie and Luke got to hang out without hospital monitors, Luke had insisted the two spend the day together. Nothing big, or fancy, just the two of them. That's all they needed.
The plan was for them just to goof off, watch movies, and act like teens again, at Julie's apartment.
At around 12 ish, while Julie was still getting ready, and Nova was getting ready to leave to go hang out with some friends of her own, she heard a knock at the door. Nova got up and opened it.
"Hey-" Luke started when he realized. "Not Julie."
Nova thought about the description Julie gave her, and it finally hit her
Nova laughed before answering. "You must be Luke. I'm Nova, Julie's sister."
"Ohh." He said. "I thought Julie had shrunk since the last time I saw her." He joked. "Nice to meet you." He said, giving her a quick side hug, before she walked him inside.
Almost as if it was planned, Julie walked out, and met Nova and Luke
"Oh, I see you've met Nova." Julie smiled.
"Yeah, you two look crazy alike." He joked.
Nova rolled her eyes, before laughing along with the two. "Well I'm gonna get going. I'll see you two lovebirds later." Julie rolled her eyes, just as Nova opened the door. Before she left, she said, "Oh, and don't get too carried away. I'm not ready to be an aunt." She joked, before leaving.
Julie facepalmed, and Luke chuckled after she left. "I am so sorry about her."
"It's okay. Carrie told me the same thing before I came over." Luke confessed.
Julie laughed. "Well thank you again for coming over." She said, sitting on her couch. "Since you're the guest, you can choose the first movie," Julie said, offering him the remote as he sat down next to her.
"Let's choose a classic." He said, surfing through channels, til he found the movie he was searching for.
Julie's jaw dropped, and she laughed, and she saw what he had chosen. "Frozen? I used to love this movie."
"Some things never change." He joked, quoting the second movie
Julie's jaw dropped, before she squealed. "I've found my soulmate." She joked, with her hand on her heart.
Luke smiled, but then turned away, wincing as he placed his hand on his left arm. Julie looked over and noticed. "I-i'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that-"
"No, no you're fine. My arms been killing me." Luke said.
"Well, have you taken your meds today?" Julie asked
"No," Luke said looking at his phone. "I didn't realize it was time already."
"I'll get you a glass, stay put." Julie said, making her way to her kitchen. She got him a glass of water, for him and handed it to him, as he took it with his pill.
He swallowed before asking. "Why are you doing this for me?" He asked
Julie took the glass from his hands, not realizing how close they were. "Because.." She started. "We're friends."
"Something like that." Luke agreed.
The two inched closer, their lips almost meeting before Luke pulled away, groaning in pain, clenching his arm again.
"It still hurts?" Julie asked.
"Yeah, I'll live though." Luke said. "Wanna get back to the movie?" He asked.
"Before we do.." Julie said, smirking, "I have a gift for you." She said. "Don't open your eyes."
"Okay." Luke laughed
Julie ran down the hallway, to her room, pulling a little box out from her nightstand. She made her way out back into the living room.
"Okayyy." She said. "Don't open!" She said, making her way to the couch, "Okay and-" She paused when she looked at Luke.
"Luke?"
