The past few days had been amaZHANG!
Annabeth wouldn't have exchanged it for the end of the world. Piper, Hazel, Jason, and the others often came by and they spent the evening either at home watching movies or taking a walk in the park.
Hazel hated popcorn. You could almost say that she found them fatal to her. Her fatal weakness.
School was just as amazing but one thing Annabeth had learned was that to get Jason and Lit to stop fighting was near impossible. The two found each other like magnets and fought over the smallest thing and for a reason, the students found it really hilarious or cool to gawk at.
Annabeth talked to Rachel a lot. Sometimes, she even conversed with Percy. Percy... was like a Percy. There were no words to describe him so the author won't even try.
That day, Annabeth and Rachel had teamed up on a project and were working on it when an announcement was made.
"Percy Jackson is requested to immediately come to the principal's office. I repeat, Percy Jackson..."
Annabeth stopped listening and stared forward at Percy who had gone pale, the usual carefree face completely gone. A person might have missed it but Annabeth wasn't just 'a person'. Percy's heart was throbbing in his chest.
"Mr. Jackson, please leave," the teacher, Mrs. Dodds, insisted in her strict voice.
"Punk, go!" Clarrise grinned. "Luckily, you'll get expelled!"
Percy stood up slowly, didn't even bother talking back, and walked out. During lunch, Annabeth asked Thaila about it.
"It happened once last year," she said with a frown. "I mean, Percy was asked to the Principal's office and he didn't return for about a week."
"He used to be more cheerful, you know?" Piper piped in (Pun intended). "Sometimes, he spent time with us like he actually ate lunch with us. Now? He keeps to himself. Jason and Percy were like the ultimate buds. They still talk during Ancient Greek."
Jason turned to them, "Are we talking about me?"
"It's strange," Annabeth admitted out loud. ("I am strange?" Jason frowned.) She turned to the table where Percy usually sat in and found it empty other than Grover and Will. "Tyson and Nico are gone too."
Before they could protest, Annabeth stood up and walked over to the table.
"Hey guys," she said with a smile. Grover jumped and his enchiladas spilled out of his mouth. Will gave her a bright smile.
"Hello Annabeth," he said. "I remember you."
Annabeth frowned, poking at her fries, "Percy speak about me a lot?"
"Yes, but my father spoke about you too," he said.
A piece of information from her past came afloat.
"Will... Will Solace! You're Apollo's son!" Annabeth exclaimed as she remembered. Apollo used to be her tutor for quite a while.
"Dad spoke about me a lot?" Will joked this time.
"Yeah, well, he has a good son," she replied with a smile. "Do you want to come sit at our table?"
Will's smile widened, "I would love to catch up with you. Grover. Buddy, coming?"
Annabeth looked at Grover properly for the first time. He looked older than he actually was. Had he failed a few classes?
"I know you," Grover grinned, then frowned, then threw his hands up. "Percy speaks about you a lot! I'm not mystery relative or old friend! Bleeeeeh!"
The Bleeeeeh might have been unnecessary. Annabeth nodded though a part of her screamed at the idea of Percy talking about her which reminded her...
"Hey Will, is Percy alright?" she asked as they picked up their trays.
Unlike what Annabeth had expected, Will broke into a grin. "Yeah, yeah! He is doing better. Come on."
That was how they sat together. And when Percy came back to school two days later, he didn't hesitate to grab the seat next to Jason. He looked better, spoke more easily. But one thing was for sure. Him, Grover, and Jason - they really were true buds.

I know this chapter was small... but I've no idea how to move on to the next part of the story... this is all SO hard! Especially with my other books... don't worry though! I'll try to stick to the updating schedule.
