The day ended on a high note in Aimi's opinion, everyone here was most definitely weaker than her...for now. Yet for some reason, she found them interesting. The energy that they projected made Aimi want to stick around. Even if it was for a minute, being on the sidelines got her blood pumping, it made her feel normal. That's right, she was a high school girl, for some reason she always kept forgetting that, and so did everyone else in her life.
Mindlessly scrolling on her phone as she walked towards the gates of UA high she was yanked back by her backpack before she could leave the premises, "Oi Oi Oi, where do you think you're off to, huh? Running away from our fight? Do you think I can't beat you? I'll kill you!!" An angry ball of fluff growled out at her.
Aimi blinked and looked up at the boy who looked so much like a pomeranian in her opinion, "Nope, just waiting for you at the gates." She lied with a small smile...she totally forgot...
"Hmph," Bakugo scoffed, "So where do you want to do this?"
Aimi pursed her lips in thought and then her eyes lit up at the idea of possibly making a friend who would treat her like an equal. This guy seemed to call everyone out on their shit so far...maybe, just maybe...."I know just the place!"
Aimi led the way to a small forest close to UA and Bakugo clearly seemed a bit alarmed, what normal person would bring a strange to a forest the first time they hung out? It was like something straight out of a horror movie and there was no way he was being the first victim of some crazy psycho-killing bitch... but then again, he didn't want to come off as scared and run away from some girl he had just promised to fight.
Bakugo felt his anxiety rise as the trees around seemed to loom over them and thicken greatly, Aimi was blissfully unaware of his unease, social skills with people her age were beyond her. They walked for a few minutes in silence before Bakugo snapped, "Where are we going, dragon bitch? If it's lame or if you try something weird, I'll kill you!"
Aimi chuckled, "We're almost here, Bakugo. And my name is Chiaroscuro Aimi. You can call me Aimi though, my last name is a mouthful."
Bakugo rolls his eyes, "I'll call you what I want, extra."
Shaking her head Aimi increased her pace when she spotted an opening among the trees and she dashed ahead.
"Where do you think you're going!!" Bakugo rushed behind her, mini explosions crackling in his palms. But they fell silent when he saw the landscape in front of him. There was a lake in the middle of the large clearing and large metal chunks lay skewered across the parts not covered by water. The sun shone above them, gently bathing the pair in an evening glow.
Aimi smirked, "Welcome to my spot! Since I don't want to go back home bruised the first day after school, let's see who can destroy the most stuff here!"
Bakugo smirked back, "Fine by me, dragon bitch!" This was great for Bakugo, it was like a rage room, no need for him to hold back. Aimi pointed out a few tools to Bakugo that were laying inside an old fridge from when Aimi came here alone, a bat, a pair of knuckle guards and bandages, nunchucks, a wooden katana, and a few other things rested inside innocently as if they weren't the basics for an assassin in the making. Aimi told Bakugo that he could use his quirk here if he wanted to since it was away from the public and that made Christmas seem to arrive early for the explosive ball of fluff. He made tiny explosions in his hands again and decided to blast away some junk a few feet away from her with a big boom. "I bet you can't do better than that!"
Aimi thought about using her quirks but decided against it...her powers were dangerous. There was no point in exposing them or possibly herself now, "Your quirk is made to destroy things. It wouldn't be a fair fight if we measured victory like that...besides, there is nothing more satisfying than crushing things with your own hands." Aimi quickly wrapped her hands up in the bandages and picked up the knuckle guards and baseball bat, "Feel free to throw stuff my way. I'll use my quirk if anything poses an actual threat to me." An insanely sadistic look gleamed in Aimi's eyes and she went to a cluster of things further away from where they were previously.
She was just a test swing in and she heard a small bang and felt the air whoosh beside her, she simply laughed and hit the ball-sized chunk with the bat before it could hit her side. Aimi giggled and swung at the things around her meticulously, there was elegance in her movements and Bakugo could clearly tell that she moved as if she was sword fighting with an equally skilled opponent. She hit from one side to the other, not staying in a single place and using her fists and feet in between to strike, showing him that she was well versed in several forms of combat Twisting and turning with lithe form. Before he knew it, the 3 feet radius around her was cleared and beaten into an almost smooth uniform surface. Aimi stood gloriously in the middle of the ring she had just created for herself, her face flushed from the exercise and filled with glee. "You up for more?" She pants, now warmed up and ready to destroy more.
Bakugo was in awe of the brunette. She was strong and this made him want to know even more about her. He wanted to be the number one hero so he needed to beat her and surpass her...yeah, that's why his chest was tightening and he found himself just as flushed as her.
He had a giant smirk on his face as he took to obliterating the litter on the land near him. This was more than satisfying to him after the first day he had. Especially after he saw that that damn Deku had a quirk now.
He had no idea how this steaming pile of bullshit came to be. As a kid he had found out that Izuku Midoriya was one of his soul mates...but he was so weak and quirkless that it pissed him off. Yet every time he would see the boy, he was always looking to help him out in one way or another. He wasn't weak though and didn't need a quirkless reject like him to 'help'. In his mind Midoriya, the weakest guy he knew was always looking down on him. Soulmate or not...that was the very reason he loathed the broccoli boy and anyone like him.
Rage took over Bakugo Katsuki's body and it flowed through his veins into the bat he was holding. He struck metal until he had exhausted himself and when the sick clanging of his assault fell quiet, his eyes met Aimi's brown reservoirs of what seemed to be life itself. She was watching him in amazement with childlike innocence and wonder.
Bakugo's fury quelled. The storm inside of him subsided as he surveyed her expression. He knew this girl had a stronger quirk than him yet the way she saw him was still incredible and powerful. Bakugo felt pride when she looked at him like that. His mind was quiet and at peace. Taking in deep breaths he waited for his body to relax so it could match his mind. Yet the hammering of his heart persisted. He raised an eyebrow at himself internally as he took to watching the girl who was once again beating the crap out of something, this time using just her fists clad in bandages and metal knuckle guards.
He found peace in her violence and hoped that this feeling inside of him never faded. Chiaroscuro Aimi had unknowingly brought him something that he had never had before. He felt warm inside. Like how he felt while eating something spicy and tasty. As Aimi let out a curse and battle cry before putting out a few final hits, Bakugo knew that he wouldn't mind hanging around this extra.
Aimi was drained of energy as she finished barraging the defenseless items in front of her. They were now in tatters and she excitedly smiled at the damage, "Look! I totally destroyed that!"
Bakugo wanted to stop his lips from curling upwards so bad but was failing miserably. He felt his hands reach out to touch her on their own accord but before they could meet their target, Aimi's phone rang and she excused herself to pick up the call.
Bakugo inwardly cursed, what was he doing?...reaching out to her face like that. Was he hoping that one of his three remaining marks would light up at her the feel of her skin...this was unlike the male who so violently hated extras that would take him away from his dream.
But as the girl that had put him at rest internally explained that she needed to go home and run some errands, Bakugo couldn't help but feel a bit sad...which he didn't understand and that pissed him off even more resulting in him letting her go with a, "Whatever, dragon bitch."
As he walked home he couldn't stop thinking about her. Even hours later, after he had argued with his old hag about something useless he didnt feel lingering resentment as his thoughts strayed to the strange girl he met today.
He couldn't help but hope...no no no...that was impossible...right? Maybe he'd just stick to being okay with seeing her tomorrow...for now.
