Chapter 7

Aimi's fun ended almost too soon as Ground beta came into view and Aimi had to stop torturing her new friend. She zoned out until the teams were announced and she discovered she was on Team I, along with Ojiro and Hagakure... the tail guy and the invisible girl. She was okay with that. Their quirks were quite mild compared to the rest of the class, at least for now. They would need her for the chance of a fair fight. 

All might answered a few questions the students had then announced the pairing for the fight. The 1st one set everyone on edge.

Fate seemed to be cruel as Teams A and D were selected to fight each other. It was Soulmate against Soulmate now. A silent tension enveloped the room as an understanding washed over everyone, they wouldn't be holding back.

Aimi couldn't tear her eyes from the screen as Bakugo tore into Midoriya who literally broke his bones to fight him back. Urarake faced Iida and made a complete mess of the rubble in the room and 'comet home ran?' rubble into her soulmate with who she was all heart-eyed with till a few minutes ago. The match should have been stopped... Aimi could feel anxiety prick at her skin..would she be let to go too far as well?

She had zoned out until Mina shook her since she knew she was comfortable with her, "It's your match now...Are you alright?"

Aimi shook it off and flashed her a fake smile and nod before heading off to fight team B, still zoned out. She simply nodded at whatever her team members said and stood to the side quietly.

"There's something wrong with her..." Tokoyami muttered under his breath almost worriedly and Mina just nodded as she heard him from behind her, "She's off..."

Bakugo who was silently standing at the back kept his eyes focused on the screen as Aimi stood eerily still and to the side as if he was making herself smaller in the room.

She stayed like this until a cold sensation came from her feet. Ice, forming in fractals covered her calves and feet. Footsteps sounded in the room, "You can move if you want, but the skin on your feet will come off so you won't be able to fight your best"

Aimi was now fully aware of her surroundings, the smirk on Todoroki's face made her slightly irritated. Raw power in the form of black smoke-like tendrils started to seep from her pores and she looked up, "Don't be so sure of yourself." Her body erupted in dark purple flames matching the glowing color of her eyes, melting the ice on her and the rest of her teammates. And the building defrosted along with it almost instantly.

She raised her hand, to extinguish the flames on her body and created a tall ring of purple fire around the bi-colored boy which made him dizzy from the vicious heat. He tried creating Ice to counter it but his ice was melted as soon as he produced it. This was way hotter than his father's flames. It was almost too much. Taking advantage of the people on board she ordered in a clear voice, "Invisi, I'll let the flames down just before they can hurt him and he'll be weak and woozy. Put the capture tape on him and leave the building. And tail, you head downstairs and engage in combat with arms or tentacle...whatever it is on him. I may or may not be available for back up so do not hold back or wait and try to capture him with help from Invisi." No one seemed to notice Aimi didn't use their names. But she bit her tongue, realizing she was treating this as a real mission, and just gave them hero names in her head.

The two nodded and got ready for her plan of action. Todoroki was swaying on his feet and Aimi let the flames die down. As soon as she did Todoroki stood straight and sent a wave of ice towards Aimi. She simply smirked, "So you have endurance, huh? But it means nothing in the face of immeasurable power." She shattered it with a touch of her Katana that she just drew, better not to use her power, she thought. But Todoroki continued to send wave after wave of ice till Aimi relented and melted them using her fire and created a wall between them with her purple flames, the boy forgetting the invisible girl altogether as exhaustion seemed to take over his body. Todoroki fell to his knees as he watched Aimi's hair float like a halo around her while lavender licked at her sides, covering and cocooning her from all attacks. "Go!" She almost shouted at Hagakure...wait. This didn't seem right...even as he was delirious and Hagakure put the tape around him he saw the flames turn darker and darker till they turned black, at this point he had been dragged out of the room. Yet in his heart, he felt unease and a foreboding sense of doom.
