When Aimi finally awoke a while later, the room she was in was empty. The sun was setting outside and the air was brisk and cool as she looked out the window.
Down below by the gates of UA, Aimi noticed Midoriya and Bakugo having a conversation. She dashed downstairs seeing it was getting heated. Holding her side in pain at the stitch forming she halted for a second. All Might seemed to have gotten to the boys anyways. With a shaky sigh she stood straight and was met with red hair, "Hey, we were all worried about you. How're you feeling?"
Tearing her eyes from the drama going on her gaze was locked onto Kirishima's. She offered him a small smile, "I'm alright now...maybe not up to meeting everyone else yet but I'm fine..."
Kirishima seemed to sense Aimi's wariness and didn't push it, feeling like she wasn't ready for the enthusiasm of the people in the class, "Alright then, I'll get your backpack from upstairs but you have to agree to let me walk you home or wherever you're going. It wouldn't be very manly of me to let you go off on your own like this."
Nodding Aimi leaned against the wall and continued to wait for him.
A burning on her thigh took the brunette by surprise and she nearly collapsed. Something was wrong with one of her soul mates. The mark on her thigh pulsated painfully and Aimi couldn't begin to imagine what they were going through, knowing it was just a fraction of their grief. Unease filled the girl and she closed her eyes while trying to ground herself and imagine sending soothing waves to the person as if they could feel her just as she was able to feel them.
A soft loving look graced her features and she finally looked up, Bakugo stood at the gates of UA, tears streaming down his face as he shouted at his idol, his eyes darting all over the place making sure no one saw him like this.
Ruby eyes met garnet ones. The shocking chocolate color was red-rimmed from exhaustion and it snapped him back to his senses. Frustrated, Bakugo spared Aimi a single glance before turning his back and leaving campus.
The burning subsided into a dull ache and Aimi's heart dropped into her stomach. Taking an instinctive step towards her friend she was stopped by a cheery voice behind her, "Hey, I got it. Are you ready to go?"
Aimi could only nod at the boy with a soft smile. Kirishima could instantly tell something was wrong. Refusing to let her carry her bag and determined to better her mood Kirishima started telling Aimi about how he got the scar on his face.
By the end of it, a real smile had blossomed on her face " Poor baby Kirishima! Don't worry about your scar though, I think it looks cool and badass."
Proud and satisfied with himself he grinned back at Aimi, "Right? And I also dye my hair red."
Impressed and somewhat amazed, Aimi's mouth hung open a little bit, " I never would have guessed that red isn't your natural color, you pull it off so well. I guess I know who to check in with first if I ever want to jazz up my look."
That got a chuckle out of him, "You betcha! And Aimi, why are we in a park?" Kirishima noticed that Aimi hadn't necessarily led him to her place.
Aimi gave Kirishima a small smile, "I have some things to do before I go back home today so I'd appreciate it if you'd let me off here for now."
Realizing that Aimi might not be comfortable walking around and showing a guy she just recently met where she lived, he agreed after Aimi assured him that she didn't have to go too far.
Saying goodbye to her friend Aimi decided that today would be the perfect day to meet with her mentor. She had royally screwed up today and needed to let off some steam. Not to mention needed some advice.
She was still in uniform but now had a mask over her face when she reached the Endeavour Hero Agency.
"Hey, Lana! How are you doing today? The red nails look lovely. I wish I could stay and chat but I sorta need to talk to the old man. It's urgent." Aimi said to the secretary at her desk.
Sending Aimi a smile the blonde looked up at her screen and lacked her keyboard before turning her green gaze onto her, "Well honey I'm doing just fine. The old fart is currently brooding in his office, go ahead darling we can talk after this. I'll buzz you in so just go right in."
Waving to the middle-aged woman with a grateful smile who was literally the only person in the world who could tolerate the number two hero all day Aimi strode into the big man's office, "Yo."
Enji Todoroki was a big man both physically and in the industry, it wasn't often that he met someone who would show such insolence and casualty to him. It was both weird and sorta nice. This bothered him and he huffed out a breath, "How many times must I tell you to use proper adequate around here? You do not just barge into someone's office and go 'yo'. What was so urgent that you needed to mess with both of our peaceful days?"
Aimi ignored her mentor's chiding and took a seat in a chair in front of his desk, tempted to put her feet on the table but decided against it. She didn't need the egoist to burn down the poor thing just to prove a point, "I messed up in school today because of All Might."
This caught his attention and he listened intently to Aimi's retelling of her day at school. He couldn't stop the smile from growing on his face once he realized that All Might would be facing some serious repercussions from the school.
Noticing his expression Aimi rolled her eyes, " Gosh, you are such a scumbag."
Enji schooled his expression and faced Aimi in all seriousness, "Well this does seem like a problem. I'll work the details out with the board and school and have them assign you more missions and have the school pardon your absence should you need a day off. In fact, I think I have a file for you right here."
The number two hero rummaged through his drawers till he came across the manilla folder he was looking for. He then handed it to Aimi.
She took a peek inside and her eyes widened in shock, "You have got to be kidding me! No! Seriously...again. I am so sick of the hero commission making demands like this. This is the third time this week and I am sick of it."
Enji felt something akin to pity, knowing that even as a hero he couldn't shoulder the burden she had to but he couldn't or rather don't know how to show it, " I have an appointment in 5 minutes with someone, we'll talk out the details later."
Aimi was furious, he just dismissed her for absolutely no reason. Lana wouldn't send her up if he had a real formal meeting this soon. She turned on her heel and marched out of his office, mask in hand. " I really fucking hate you, old man. I hope you burn in hell. "
She bumped shoulders with someone in the hall but spared them not even a glance as she was still angry about her task at hand and the contents of the confidential file given to her.
Meanwhile, Todoroki Shoto rubbed his shoulder and stared in shock at his classmate. Why was Aimi here? And why did she cuss out his father?
Now, he did not doubt that his bastard of a father probably deserved it. But knowing someone had the guts to say it to his face amazed him. From that moment onwards, he decided that Chiaroscuro Aimi infatuated him. He needed to know more and hoped that tomorrow he would get the chance to.
