Another few days later...

I was in Lee's room, talking to him again.

"So can you tell me what this surprise is now?!" Lee asked, once again bringing up the subject for as long as I have been visiting him this month.

"It doesn't require the use of chakra." I smiled.

"Is it a technique?! Does Gai-sensei know this move?!"

"No, but it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you Lee..." I scratched my cheek. Then I felt the presence of Gaara behind the door to the room. Sand slowly started to fill the room.

"Ayumi-sensei, what's going on?" Lee worriedly asked. Gaara then appeared in front of the bed. When I looked at his face, I saw pain etching everywhere from his eyes to cheeks. I slowly walked up to him and kneeled before him.

"Were you looking for me Gaara?" Said boy nodded. "I see... sorry Lee but my visit today will have to be cut short today." Lee responded with understanding. I stood up and grabbed Gaara's hand. "Let's get going shall we." I teleported up out and to the hotel where the Sand siblings are staying at. I saw Baki in the hall, face full of panic. "Baki?"

"Lady Kazekage, thank you for coming. I've managed to inform some of the shinobi back at the village of what is going on." Kankuro and Temari entered the room at that exact moment and all the Sand Siblings eyes widened in shock.

"Good... if there are some shinobi that come to watch the chuunin exams and don't know of the change in orders and commands, please make sure they are informed." I thanked. Baki left and the Sand Siblings remained.

"Wait you're the Kazekage?" Kankuro asked.

"Temporary." I added.

"What happened to our father?" Temari asked.

"I'm afraid he was assassinated." I answered, sadness and anger made their ways onto the siblings' faces when they heard that. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to save him, but I didn't realize there was an imposter taking his place until a few weeks ago."

"I see... do you know who did it?" Kankuro clenched his fist. I lied by shaking my head.

"For now, until there's a new Kazekage, I will step in and take the responsibilities of that position." I smiled.

"But you're a leaf shinobi, aren't you?" Temari asked.

"I'm a leaf shinobi yes, but I'm also a Sand shinobi as well." I put my hand into my pouch to pull out a green scroll. I unraveled it and placed it on the ground, and activated it, summoning the contents which were; a sand shinobi headband and a stack of papers which were my contracts with the Village Hidden in the Sand. I picked a contract out of the pile of paper that appeared and handed it to them. "This contract states that if there is a time where, I deem as an emergency, I can become the Kazekage until that emergency is over. Or I can become a stand in Kazekage if the current Kazekage is killed or unfit to take on the duties of the Kazekage."

"Does that mean that you're our Kazekage until someone is ready to take on the position?" Gaara asked.

"Correct." I put everything back into the scroll and put it into my pouch once more. "I should be going. Also..." I gave them a hug. "Good luck." I teleported home and went to bed after I went to see if Naruto was sleeping or not, but he was.

The next day that the main arena...

I stood next to Hiruzen on top of the stands as his guard. A few days ago I had asked Hiruzen to be his guard during the final part of the exam, he had agreed and thanked me for saving Gekko a while back. I told him it was nothing.
