Part 13

A few days later...

After the memorial service I had talked to Baki about the next steps for the sand village. I told him to have all the sand shinobi return to the village and to increase security. Also, to inform the Suna Council of the recent updates like me being the temporary Hokage and Kazekage. I told him I'll head to the village once the Hokage here is secured as that was the will of Hiruzen. After Baki had left, I was approached by Jiraiya and asked if he could take Naruto with him to find the 5th Hokage. I told him okay and to do it quickly, so I won't be stuck as Hokage for too long. He found my joke amusing,

I was taking a walk around the village when I felt the presence of my former student Itachi. I rushed to the location and saw Kurenai, Asuma and Gai with Kakashi thrown over his shoulder having a stand down with Kisame Hoshigaki and Itachi on the river. I jumped between them, facing Itachi and his partner.

"Ayumi-sensei..." Itachi breathed.

"It's been a while my little prodigy." I smiled at him, looking straight into his Sharingon. When he realized that his genjutsu wasn't working against me, he looked at me confounded. "Don't bother asking me why your Sharingon doesn't work against me, I won't answer and judging from your cloaks, you're a part of the Akatsuki, right?"

"Wait you're Itachi's mentor?" Kisame asked.

"Yes." I answered, summoning Benihime [crimson princess](looks like image below);

Preparing to unsheathe her, for the fight.

"Kisame, we didn't come for war and also... if we fought against Ayumi-sensei while she was using that sword, we'll be dead before we can blink." Itachi sighed.

"Can't be helped then." Kisame and Itachi body flickered away. I put Benihime away and turned to face the jounin.

"Please take Kakashi to the hospital, I need to say farewell to my son." I teleported away. When I arrived at the front gate, Jiraiya and Naruto were about to leave. "See you when you get back, and Naruto do not under any circumstances let Jiraiya have your wallet understood?" He nodded quickly and the pair left to find Tsunade.

I went into the office and started to work on paperwork. While I was working on it, Asuma barged in the room and told me that Sasuke found out that Itachi is looking for Naruto.

"How?" I pinched my brow. He told me that a ninja had barged in the room where Kakashi was resting in and asked if it was true. "I see... is anyone already going after him?"

"Gai is already following him." Asuma answered.

"The there's need to worry. I can only hope that the two brothers don't meet though..." I sighed.

"What about the Akatsuki? You know they're looking for Naruto..."

"But I completely trust that Jiraiya will be able to protect him, from them." I smiled. I heard a knock on the door and saw Gai enter.
