When the five years had passed, I returned to Konohagakure through the gates... the guards were once again sleeping on duty. I walked into the village and had a look around before heading home. I took the key out and opened the door.

"I'm back!" I called, not expecting anyone to be there.

"Mom?!" I looked at the one who had said that, and it was Naruto and besides him was Hinata.

"Hello Naruto, Hinata. It's been quite some time since I've seen you last. What have I missed?" Naruto ran up to me and gave me a huge hug. I looked at Hinata and reached my hand out for her to join and she did. I saw the ring on her finger and smirked. "So, my stupid dense son finally started to date and even got himself a beautiful future bride. Perfect! Now all you need to give me are grandchildren and I'll be satisfied. Oh yeah, make sure to have a girl. I want to have a granddaughter to play with, boys are too troublesome." When I looked at my son and my future daughter-in-law, their faces were priceless, and I had to laugh. "So when's the reception?"

"It's tomorrow." Hinata answered and I blinked.

"I see. Then is it okay to give you your wedding gift a little early?" I asked, pulling out a book.

"Sure?" Naruto answered but it came out more like a question. I handed the book to Hinata and smiled.

"It's a picture book of all of Naruto's embarrassing moments when he was a baby." Naruto started to stutter nonsense and Hinata blushed a heavy red. I only laughed again. "Just kidding! Hinata, that's for you to use as blackmail if my son decided to do something stupid. But the real gift is..." I pulled out a small box, holding a necklace with a pale purple gem on it. I handed it to Hinata. "this. It's one of the eleven in the world, your future husband holds another, but this comes to show that I only give them to those who I consider my family. Make sure not to give it away, sell, or lose it. Though I highly doubt that." I laughed it off, but I could see the sad look they were giving me. "Anyways, am I invited to the wedding?"

"Of course, Lady Ayumi." Hinata smiled, but I pouted.

"Just call me mom, just like Naruto does. After all, were going to be officially family, right?" I grinned.

"Yes..." We grouped hug and then went to bed. In the morning, they told me the time and place the wedding would be held and I prepared the money gift for the wedding... two hundred should do well.

When I arrived, I was dressed in a white kimono with faded leaf and flower patterns on it, but it was covered with my classic grey cloak and the traveling hat covered the hair decorations I had in my hair, my hair being in my traditional thick braid. I walked by Konohamaru and dropped the envelope into the box. Said envelope had my name written on it, so when Konohamaru saw it he called out to me and I gave him a small wave. Then I arrived at the main area for the reception and I saw Temari and Shikamaru holding hands! How dare he! I held myself back from tackling the Nara.

I went to the hill and sat down, looking at all the people that came to the reception.

It was only a few moments later when the bride and groom came out to welcome us with their presence. I only smiled at them as many people went to them to congratulate them. Then I walked next to Jiraiya, after standing up from my spot on the hill and taking off my cloak and hat.

"Thank you Jiraiya, for taking care of Naruto after I died." I thanked him.

"Ayumi." He breathed not noticing me before. Then he smiled. "No, thank you. You raised him for majority of his life long before I met him, and you raised him very well."

"Are you sure... I, myself didn't have a proper mother or father so I can't really say whether or not I raised him right." I sighed. "But the past is the past and all we can do is make way for the future. I hope we both can see that future."

"Yes, after all it's our jobs to pass on our wisdom to the next generations as we grow older." Jiraiya held my hand. "Thanks for saving me... though you shouldn't have. You should've seen how mad Naruto was when he learned that his mother died. It wasn't pretty."

"Is that so..." I looked at the necklace adorning his neck and smiled. We continued to have small talk about Naruto and the future. "Do you think he'll hate me if I left and he would never see me again?"

"Who knows..." He hummed, thinking it was a joke. Once he realized I was serious he faced me sharply with his eyes widened. "You don't mean-?"

"Yes, I plan on traveling again. I'll probably miss the birth of my grandchildren and the deaths of my godchildren, but I need to learn the truth behind Mother's origins. Then maybe, I could better understand her..." I trailed off, hoping he would understand.

"Understood..." Jiraiya only sighed and before he could face me again, I teleported outside the gates of the village. I changed out of the kimono into my clan clothing and covered myself with the worn down classic grey cloak and traveling hat. I started to fly upward to the sky and to where I could see the entire village. I pulled out many scrolls, meant for the people who possess a necklace and to my godchildren, I teleported the scrolls directly to them before I started to fly higher into the sky.

"Thank you, for being my family."
