Part 14

A few days later (At the Sunagakure gate)...

When I arrived at the gate, the guards immediately welcomed me as the Kazekage. It was awkward to hear people call me that. As I walked in the village, I heard Kazekage this, Kazekage that and I getting embarrassed. I walked into the Kazekage office to see Baki waiting for me besides the desk.

"Lady Kazekage, welcome." Baki bowed to me. I told him to stand.

"What needs to get done Baki?" I asked.

"We need to..." The he started to list out everything that needs to be fixed, adjusted, and determined. When he got to the manner of picking a Kazekage, I stopped him.

"I want to postpone that issue for a year... it doesn't seem right as of now." I chuckled.

"Understood, if that's the case we'll prepare the Kazekage clothing for you and we'll prepare a ceremony as well, to make you the official Kazekage."

"Huh? But I'm only temporary and well..." I was confounded, why were they treating me like I was like the Kazekage!

"Even if you're temporary, you're still the Kazekage." I tried to reason with him but in the end, I was shot down.

"Fine..." I pouted. "Well I'd best get to work, do as you see fit for my 'ceremony'." I sat in the seat that Rasa once sat in when he was still alive. I started with information about the members of the council and saw that there were many crimes that a member had committed. This made me furious. How dare he! I release KI as I continued to read the crimes and conspiracies against the Kazekage Clan. "That damn council men. ANBU." I called, the ANBU of the sand appeared in front of me, kneeling and trembling. "Inform the council members that we are to have a meeting, this instance." They responded with a quick yes and left as quickly as they came. I walked to the meeting room and sat on the Kazekage chair. Waiting for the other members to arrive.

I had to wait a total of 30 minutes before the last member came and let's say this in nicest way possible.... I was peeved. When he came in the door, I just glared at him and I could see him tremble and sweat.

"You w-wanted us, L-Lady Kazekage?" One of the council men asked, from his seat around the table.

"Yes. I wanted to ask about the pile of papers that described the crime and conspiracies you had against the Kazekage's clan." Only Tojuro protested, as the others looked at me in shock and I already knew beforehand they weren't involved. "I refuse to have a council member that will easily betray the Kazekage like that and so... Tojuro. As of today you will be arrested and removed from the council. Take him away." ANBU members came in and took the former council man away. Once he was gone, I released my KI, and I could tell that the council was having an easier time breathing. "Now let's get down to business. As I have heard from Baki, he told me you wanted to make me the official Kazekage. Well even if I do have a few things to say about that. First being that you can do the ceremony and give me the clothing and hat that shows that I'm the Kazekage but in the records and in history, I will be listed as a temporary." They nodded, knowing that there was no point in trying to convince me. "Second is the choosing of the 5th Kazekage and I suggest we at least wait a year. So we can get a chance to make sure the transition is smooth when he or she comes into office. Third is perhaps help fix the alliance with the Village Hidden in the Leaf." Everyone started to refute except for Baki. "Then how about the next Kazekage handles that matter then." Everyone agreed. "Is there anything you need to tell me, or you wish to bring up?" A councilman raised his hand I nodded at him.

"It's about Gaara." He started. "We received reports about him releasing the one-tail beast at Konoha. What should we do?"

"I see... well can't do anything about that and I'm sure there were casualties because of it, as Konoha has not brought it to my attention, in fact the sand shinobi that were present at the chuunin exams helped out the leaf in attacking the intruders." I laughed. "So there nothing to worry about. Well as you know I have paperwork to get started so, meeting adjourned. Baki please come with me, I need you to do a few things for me." I stood up from the council chair and walked to the door, and back to my office with Baki behind me.
