Chapter 18- The Battle Begins

~Dabi's POV~
One minute Hawks and I were holding hands the next heroes where raiding the building. I turned to face him and he squeezed my hand tightly. I tear went down his cheek. I froze. "Hawks. What's going on?" I managed.
"I-I love you just remember that, ok?" He looked deep into my eyes.
"I love you too, you know that. I don't understand." He let go. "See ya late...maybe never, Love..." He went to the edge of the stage and fell on his back. Then he was flying away. "What the hell?" I muttered. 'Where was he going?' I thought.
Probably to go fight or something. He'd be fine, hopefully at least. I looked around and everyone was fighting. You couldn't really see the difference between us and the 'heroes'.

~Hawks POV~
Tears rolled down my cheeks. This wasn't supposed to hurt this much. I always knew this was coming. I wiped my sleeve against my eyes. The mission right now was to find Twice, we could help him and maybe even Toga. He was where I knew he would be. On the second level in a room doing who knows what. I barged in and quickly slammed the door behind me.
He was waving his hands like a crazy person. "Hawks! What's going on??" He screamed. I stood next to him. "Twice, I have to get you out of here!" I grabbed his hand but he pulled away.
"But their all still down there! Get them too!" He screamed.
"Umm...ok I'll get you out first."
"No, I have to help them fight!"
I sighed. "Remember when I asked why you became a vilain if you're such a good guy?"
He nodded. "Yeah, what about it?"
"Well this is your chance to change it all around, please just come with me. Please I'm begging you."
"I can't!"
He tried to get to the door. "Hawks, I need to go help my family. You've got to understand."
"I'm sorry but I can't let you do that. You've got to come with me, we're friends please. I feel like a shit person right now.
"If we're friends let me go then!" He pushed past me and I grabbed his shoulder. "I didn't want to do this but...." he began duplicating before my eyes. Then they all started attacking. At random numbers they ran at me. I saw one running towards the door. I had to hope that that was the original...I hardened my feathers and used them to cut some of them down. Blood was spattering everywhere.
All of a sudden the door burst open. 'I'd been sloppy and not locked the door...' I thought. It was Dabi, he looked horrified... disgusted even. "What the fuck is going on in here?" He rubbed his temples. For a second I stopped fighting. A would've cried but this wasn't the time. "Dabi! You're alive thank goodness" the Twice who had been closest to the door said as he put his hand on Dabi's shoulder. "Why wouldn't I be?" Dabi responded. I had started cutting down the clones again. Now the room was almost empty besides the three of us; the original Twice, Dabi, and I. "Dabi take a step back" I ordered. He did so. A feather went over to Twice and carried him over to the door that lead outside. If only I could just get Twice out of here everything would be a little easier. I went over to him. "I'd rather die than go with you!" He screamed. "Please Twice, if you get out of here you can start again..." I whispered to his gently and put a hand on his shoulder which he brushed away. He punched me square in the face. "Ouch" I mumbled.
"What is wrong with you?" He muttered to me. "I thought we were friends but I guess I was wrong. Wait..." He was silent for a second before continuing. "You're a traitor...not again! We already lost Magne no one else too" he sobbed, "Get away from me you Bastard!"
I guess I had no other choice now. "Wait before I die, can I write something please?" He questioned. That's the least I could do. I patted down my jacket and found a pen and paper. Anything could be a weapon right? I gave them to him and he wrote for a while until he gave me back the paper. "Give this to Toga for me..."
Now was it. "I will I promise." Dabi had been just staring the whole time. I wonder what must have been going through his head. He probably hated me now, great. I found the fucking love of my love but  all this has to happen. Selfish, I know.
He was walking up to us. I had to do this quickly. "Bye bye sunshine and moonlight dances. Also tell Toga I love her and all of the League. See ya in another live! Bye Dabs I'll miss you!" This was getting painful. "You too Hawks...it was nice knowing you...bud" that stuck a cord. I shed a a small tear. "Bye buddy, you truly were a great guy who deserved better. The world didn't deserve you."
"Haha thanks." That's when I stuck him with my feather straight in the back. I checked his pulse. He was most definitely dead. "May he rest in peace" I said. I cried. I'd just lost a friend in the world someone who deserved so much better than this shit.
I looked up to look at Dabi who was two meters away from me. He wasn't crying, wasn't the most emotional type. He looked blank. I couldn't read his expression.
"Shouldn't you be crying and upset?" I asked him.

HEYYY. Damn now I feel bad about Twice. I love Twice so fricking much😭😭😭 This is probably one of the few chapters with excessive swear words, haha. Written May 3, 2021 at 00:57 instead of school work which is late not to mention but I wanted to watch TikTok so yeah. 

ANYWAY this is definitely my favourite chapter I've ever written and I hope you liked it!
