Chapter 8- Hey Tora!

~Hawks' POV~

Today was the day after the meeting. When I had gotten home, no one was there and the apartment felt a little too quiet. Hawks hadn't seen Tora in a while and he'd promised to visit so today he'd complete his promise. I walked into her room and no one was there. "Tora, you here?" I called out. I went over to her bed. A cute, little green caterpillar was on her pillow. I poked it and I heard a small "Eek!". Before my eyes, the caterpillar turned into the girl I'd come to visit. "I'm sorry!" She was on her knees on the floor. 

"Hey Tora, long time no see. Are you ok?" I said. She nodded. Right now she wore a plain white dress and her curly ginger hair which looked shorter was partly tied to the side of her head in a ponytail while the rest hung down. Tora stood up and took a seat on her bed. I hadn't looked around the room before but now there was a poster of some band, well drawn pictures, and images of heroes. 

"I'm guessing you forgot all about me?" Tora questioned with a light chuckle but her eyes looked sad. "It's alright if you did...everyone does." Damn now I felt bad. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner I've just been busy lately" I scratched the back of my neck. "But I'm here now, aren't I? So let's just enjoy the day." 

"Yeah." She gave me a soft smile and patted the spot next to her. I sat down and we had basic nice conversation. "I have an I idea." I said. "What is it?" she asked. "Let's go for a picnic on the wall!"

"Really? Are we allowed to? I've never been but I'd love to!" her dark brown eyes twinkled brightly as she jumped out of her seat. 

"I'm Hawks the Pro-Hero, I'll get us permission so don't worry about it" I reassured her. She nodded and sat back down. 
"Isn't that abuse of power?" She questioned.
"Nope, heroes have permission because sometimes we have to take guard from the wall, and with extra permission we can take people up."

After a couple of minutes I had managed to get us the permission we needed so that we'd be able to have our picnic. "Thank you!" I said to the lady who finalized the permission we'd need and gave her a bright smile.

I got back to Tora's room and she had changed into a pair of washed out skinny jeans and a navy blue t-shirt with a pale pink flower on the pocket. "You got permission?" 

"Yup, let's go." I offered her a hand and she took it. "We still need to go get some food, specifically KFC would be nice."

We walked out of the room and to the nearest KFC. We'd ordered two twister sets, dunked wings, extra chips, an oreo krusher each, and coke each. "So how are we going to get up the wall?" she asked as she was struggling to carry the stuff she was adamant to carry. 

"Right you can shapeshift?" I asked and she nodded. "So I was thinking that you could turn into a bird and fly up, and I'll do the same and carry the food."

She looked nervous but nodded nonetheless. "Here." She pased the the food to me and shifted into a a large majestic golden eagle. She started flying at a slow pace. I commanded some of my feathers to carry the food and I caught up to Tora. "This way." She started following me and soon we sat on the wall facing a mountain covered with colourful flowers everywhere, dotted with tall trees, and a couple of ponds. 

The eagle just sat on the wall not moving as it watched me. "I guess you can transform back now." I waited a minute then two then three. "Umm...Tora you alright?" She just kept looking at me and then she screeched. I snapped my fingers in front of her eyes which did nothing. I decided to shake her gently by the shoulders. That did something. "Oh not again..." she muttered. 

"It's fine." I swung my legs over the edge and put the food in-between us.  She sat down and also swung her legs. "Could you explain your quirk to me?" I asked.  

"Well I can shapeshift into most everyday animals but as of right now I don't have much control on what animal most of the time. Sometimes I lose control and don't really know what's going on or I'll just shift out of no where. Like I went to sleep as myself and woke up as a caterpillar, I must admit I was a cute one though."

I chuckled. "Interesting, I'm sure with some training controlling it would be easier. I must admit you were a cute little caterpillar." She went scarlet. 

"Maybe...my parents sent me to the hospital sometime two years ago when I was twelve because they couldn't handle me...said I was too unpredictable...they used to visit all the time...I haven't seen them in months" She was sobbing and chocking on her tears. "That's why I went out that day when we met...I was hoping that I'd see them."

I was stunned. I hadn't expected this. "I'm sorry, if they don't want to be around you their a bunch of suckers. I could look for them one day for you if you'd like." I came closer and gave her a hug as I patted her back gently. She kept sobbing into my shoulder but she finally tore away. "Sorry." she was wiping away her tears. "Thank you Hawks, you really are a hero. I feel a bit better now." she gave me a pained smile. 

I took the container with the dunked wings. "Want one?" She nodded and took one. The two of us talked for  a while. Tora told me about her family. She sounded happy as she remembered joyful memories. She even had a little sister. 

She coughed. "So Hawks do you have a girlfriend or?" 

~Dabi's POV~ (Ha! You thought Dabi wouldn't get a POV again but here it is😃)

I was hiding in the shadows. The girl Hawks was sitting with asked him if he had a girlfriend. I think her name was Tora? "Well, I'm not really into women" He said. "So your gay?" she asked. He nodded. I didn't know why but I could feel my cheeks heating up. 'So he was into men? Could that mean I had a chance?' I snapped the thought out of my mind. I wasn't here to fall in love. 'Love?' I scoffed. 'What are you doing to me Birdie?'

I'm sorry that the Dabi part is short but don't worry, the next chapter will be very Dabi centered so I hope your excited. So my hearts kinda broken because of Attack on Titan. Mad respect to Levi✨🌻💅 I won't say who but eff a certain character...
