(About a week later)
Boran alp P.O.V
"Boran Kardesh, The time for the wedding you're waiting for has come." Osman Bey says, smiling at me and I grin back. 'And hopefully, no one will die or almost die this time,' I almost say out loud. "Haydi, Let's prepare for a wedding!" Gunduz Bey says happily, thumping me on the shoulder.
Gonca hatun P.O.V
Boran and I stand outside, talking about nothing important when Boran points at a tree. "There used to be a fat bird with a few red feathers that would sit there every day." I look at the tree, waiting for Boran to continue. "That bird sat there every single day and would make the most annoying sound ever. I hated that bird and wanted it to go away so bad." "Did you try to kill it or something?" I ask looking back at Boran.
"Yes- key word being tried. I managed to fire an arrow at the bird, but it hit the branch it was sitting on. It pinned a feather or two to the branch, and it probably scarred the bird for life." I laugh, "Seriously? Did the bird come back?" Boran thinks for a minute, "No, I don't think it did, but I remember Savci was mad at me because he wanted to study the bird. I'm pretty sure I was only 9."
Bala and Aygul come walking towards us, "You two are getting married today, What are you talking about now?" She asks and I look at Boran, "He was talking about a fat bird." I say, making Boran chuckle and nod along, Bala looks between the two of us incredulously. "However interesting that topic is, we have a wedding to prepare for, so come on!" Bala says pulling me along with her. "Have fun?" Boran calls out and laughs when I scowl at him.
Preparations begin and people get to work. By the time the sun goes down, the people are ready for a wedding.
Boran alp P.O.V
I stand to one side outside the bey's tent where the ceremony will take place. I shift from one foot to the other anxiously and Goktug grabs my shoulders holding me in place. "Calm down, Boran. Quit being so nervous," He whispers and I nod, but can only stay still for a minute before going back to shifting nervously.
Soon we are all led into the tent, and everyone sits down in their spots. Everyone else sits behind Gonca and I while Osman Bey and Gunduz Bey sit as witnesses. After a few words, the Sheikh Edebali starts the ceremony. "Arslan alp'in oglu Boran, Do you take Hasan'in kizi Gonca as your wife?"
"I do."
"Do you?"
"I do."
"Do you?" He asks the final time and I take a deep breath.
"I do."
Sheikh Edebali then smiles, turning to Gonca. "Hasan'in kizi Gonca, Do you take Arslan alp'in oglu Boran as you husband along with the dowry he promised?"
"I do."
"Do you?"
"I do."
One last time, "Do you?"
"I do."
I let out a breath, 'The hard part is over, good.' I turn and look at Gonca, offering a small smile which she immediately returns. Edebali smiles at both of us before instructing everyone to raise their hands for a short prayer. After the prayer, we get up and receive congratulations and hugs from everyone. "You better not have anything stupid planned, Goktug," I say after he hugs me. Goktug smirks, "No promises, Boran, There may or may not be something I have planned."
I give him a look which he mimics right back at me, "Try your luck, Boran." He says teasingly and I scoff, 'Yeah, right.' When we walk outside, we're immediately met with lights in the dark night. Alps run and jump, swords clanging against shields and people clap and laugh. We all sit together outside the tent, large tables of food set up all around. 'This is pretty crazy.'
Third person P.O.V (Kinda like a narrator)
A little while away, Osman leans towards his wife as she takes a sip of water. "Remember when we got married and everyone almost died?" Bala coughs, almost choking on the water, "Osman, why would you say that?!" She says, looking at her husband in disbelief with how casually he said it. Osman just shrugs, unfazed, "I'm just saying, would've been pretty unfortunate." "Osman." "I know, I know, I'm just kidding. Relax."
Further down the line, Goktug sits alongside Gunduz and the other alps. Baysungur nudges Goktug, "So what's the plan?" Goktug grins, mischief shining through his bright blue eyes. "I'm going to trip him," the alps looks at each other. "But, it's not like he'll fall, Boran always manages to catch himself when he trips." Gunduz thinks for a moment before nodding, "It'll just be enough to annoy him. You're a genius, Goktug." Gunduz says excitement and mischief mixing in his usual calm voice. "Thank you, Gunduz Bey, Thank you."
Then we get to the bride and the groom. Gonca and Boran. They sit side by side, enjoying the festivities and happiness of those around them. "If someone told me when I first saw you that I'd end up marrying you, I would've lost my mind." Gonca says turning to Boran, and he laughs, looking down. "I'd most definitely lose my mind if someone had told me that, Gonca'm." They both smile at each other, gazing into each other's eyes, the red tint on their faces remaining the entire night.
Gonca hatun P.O.V
We walk to our new tent, followed by everyone else. The alps kept shoving Boran around as we walked, generally just to annoy him. When we reach the door of the tent and all the alps give Boran one final push in, Boran trips, barely catching himself from falling to the ground. I turn around and see Goktug pull his foot back quickly.
I cover my mouth, trying to stifle my laughter as Boran spins around, "Goktug, I swear I will-" His threat gets cut off as everyone bursts into laughter, realizing what Goktug did. Boran slaps a hand over his eyes, mumbling as I try and not laugh at Goktug's prank. I grab Boran's arm pulling him into the tent as the door shuts. "Sorry Boran!" I hear Goktug yell out and Boran scoffs.
"Pretty crazy day, wasn't it?" Boran asks, holding my hands in his, and I nod. "And now we're married," "And now we're married." Boran says almost as if he can't believe it, "Everything made more sense since I talked to you, I saw things in a different way. It's something I had never felt before like I was stronger. Like anything could happen, things I never even stopped to imagine." Boran looks down sighing, but then looks back up, into my eyes.
"That feeling is something only ever feel around you, Gonca hatun. It's because I love you, more than anything else." "I love you too, Boran alp." Boran smiles, holding me closer to him and pressing a kiss to my forehead. I close my eyes as his lips linger, he pulls away slightly and rests his forehead against mine. Like that we stay, only in the moment.
A/N: Woo Hoo they're finally married! My plan was tp have this posted by 6 pm CST (my time), but today was a busy day. I had spent the day outside volunteering for something and then when we came home, my brother randomly decided to go swimming. I live in the South, so yes swimming, it is already super humid.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Salaam and have a great day or night!
