Being hockey royalty sucks.
Ok, maybe I should back up a bit.
Being the daughter of hockey royalty sucks.
Ok, that's better.
My dad is hockey royalty. My dad brought the Cup to Anaheim in 2007. He's revered in Anaheim. And as his daughter, I'm hockey royalty. Except when I'm trying to be myself. So, I'll say it again.
Being the daughter of hockey royalty sucks.
You know what else sucks.
Hockey players.
Specifically, hockey players who are your ex-boyfriend.
Rule number 1 when you work for any sports organization – don't date the players.
Rule number 2 – if you do break rule number 1 then don't fall in love.
Rule number 3 – if you break rule 2, make sure they are worth it.
Yea, I basically broke all the rules in onego. So, I guess this is my story. Hi, I'm Emma, daughter of Scott Niedermeyer,Anaheim hockey legend. He and my UncleRob won the Cup when I was 12. The Starks were so happy that day. My dad retired but hockey was life. After I graduated, I was offered a job withthe Ducks on their executive team. Ihandle player transitions, travel and public relations. It was great. Thecurrent team was like one big happy family. Of course, it wasn't always. After Corey left and Alex got traded, it took a lot of time for us tofind that groove again. Especially forme. But I'll come back to that. The day this story starts, I was supposed tobe meeting the new teammates for the season not realizing that one of themwould change my life. I'll start there.
