I felt Bucky tense up next to me and I looked up to see Alex heading towards us. I flicked my fingers at Wanda who looks away from Steve and mutters "Oh shit." This causes Steve to look up as well and then look at me and Bucky. This is not going to end well.

Alex gets to our table. "Hey Emma. Hey Wanda."

"Hi Alex."

"Hey asshole." I shot Wanda a look but I can feel Bucky trying not to laugh and see Steve in the same predicament.

"What can we help you with, Pierce," Bucky says, his jaw is tense.

"I just wanted to say hi, I was grabbing a beer with some of the guys before I left." He took a swig of his beer. "Can we talk Emmalina?"

"No," I said firmly. "We don't have anything to talk about."

"So you're with Barnes now? He controlling you?" I feel Bucky tense the arm that is around me. Now I know that Alex is drunk. I see some of the team behind him and watching to see what happens. I spy Adam in the group and I know he'll jump in if something happens.

But Bucky without fail steps in, "I don't control Emma. She's her own person. If she says she doesn't want to speak to you then she made that choice. You should walk away from this, Pierce. Stay away from my girl."

Oh, the rage you see cross Alex's face was priceless. And I guess the fear that crossed my face was enough for Adam to start moving closer.

"We are not done, Emma. Not even close." Alex spits out.

"Yes, we are," I say. "You need to leave, now, Alex. Please. You're drunk."

He leans across the table, and Bucky put his arm in front of me. "I will get you back Emma." He says with enough venom that it made me flinch into Bucky.

What I wasn't expecting was for Steve to throw the first punch.

I put my arm in front of Emma out of instinct to make sure he didn't get close to her.

"I will get you back, Emma," he says and that makes my blood boil. Then from the corner of my eye I saw Steve cock back his arm and hit Alex in the face, dropping him to the ground.

"Pierce, you'll stay the hell away from Emma!" He yells as he gets up from the table. I get up and put a hand on Steve to stop him from doing anything else. I notice that Adam, Troy and a couple of the other team members are there. Adam gets to us first standing next to Steve.

"What the hell, Alex? You promised you wouldn't go near her anymore!"

"Yeah, well when I saw her with this guy, I had to do something." He looks at me as he gets up from the floor.

"You did this to yourself, Pierce." I look at him, trying not to reach over and try and kill him. I look back at Emma. She's clinging to Wanda, scared. I reach over to her and pull her to me. "I won't let anything happen to you, doll," I whispered to her. "We should go," I tell Wanda and Steve. The four of us walk past the group with Adam giving me a nod.

"I'll take care of this," he says. "Take care of her." I nod and head to the car.

I drive us to the apartment since its closer. Emma still hasn't said anything since the bar, which makes me worry. We get in and I grab a glass of water for her. Not sure what to do, I turned to Wanda. "Did you guys want to stay here tonight? You and Emma can have my room."

"I think that's smart in case he tries to show up at our place," says Wanda.

"Doll, you know where everything is. Help yourself. I'll sleep out here tonight. But if you need anything you let me know, ok?" I give her a hug.

"Thank you, Bucky." She let go and hugged Steve. "Thanks Stevie."

"Anytime, Em." The girls go to my room and shut the door. I turned to look at Steve. "What the hell?"

"I'm sorry, Buck. But I thought it would be a bad idea for you and Alex to be seen in a fight. Especially with the press being all over you guys. I wasn't going to let him intimidate Emma like that."

"I don't deserve a best friend like you Steve. Thanks man."

"She's my friend, and she's your girl."

I give him a big smile. "Yeah, she is. I asked her already and she said yes. It felt good to say it earlier. We should get to bed; we have an early game tomorrow. Night punk."

"Night jerk." He left and I got the couch ready. As much as I wanted Emma in my arms, I knew that she was safe and that'sall I wanted.
