| Chapter Six |
With my back to our predator, I didn't know the expression plastered onto her face, whether it be pissed off or confused at our actions.
Either way, either mood, I did not want to be near her. I knew she was suspecting something, her senses were that of Spider-man.
"Now." 10K whispered just above a whisper, but we heard it.
Without anymore wait in our plan, we all took off in our respective ways. I could hear her cry out a war scream, and fear consumed my veins with adrenaline pumping with it.
We're pissing her off, not confusing her. I jumped over a rock, careful of my ankles but not slowing down for anything once I landed.
The woods seemed to be fading in front of me, shining against rocks that was exposed into a surface of less dirt and leaves. Another stream, maybe? Hope glimmered in my beating heart until I heard a shuttle of leaves behind me.
For a moment, my breath stopped in my throat as I could feel my pumping organ go into my throat. Either it was Cassandra, an animal, or a newborn Z.
When I mustered up the rest of my courage, I turned my head to look behind me, hoping the thing coming at me, or making noise near me, would be a Z.
I almost let out a scream when I saw it was the flaming brunette instead of a cute little deer playing cat and mouse with me. I've been in some scary situations, but the fear I felt in this moment, was a new level.
Damn. I forced my breathing to come back, unsteady but there. I shoved myself to take it up a notch, breaking away from the forest line and onto rocks I had assume was leading to a stream.
Just as soon as I touched the rocks, I was shoved from behind, hands outstretched to press against my back as the perpetrator reach my body. I turned my head, covering my face with my arms as I flipped to my back as fast as I possibly could.
Breathing was no longer an option as it was forced out of my lungs once my thick body collided with the much harder surface. I skidded with no mercy, some of my shirt rising in the process.
I hissed out in pain as I felt the small rocks and sharp edges of those below me pierce through my soft skin, much like my arms had done but with a little less violence.
Once my body had slowed from the dramatic scene, I took an analysis over the damage done. Back was probably scratched up, but nothing compared to how my arms were after New Jersey.
My head hurt like a bitch, seeing as it was also slammed down with the rest of my form. Of course, a headache was forming but I had no time to nurse myself.
Once my eyes were cracking open and my arms were lowering, all I saw was a tan face and teeth snapping down at me as she tried her hardest to bite either my neck or shoulder.
I screamed out in surprise, not expecting to see such a sight so close to my own blood bag. I moved my hands to try and shove her off of me, but she grabbed my wrists in a grip that was vice.
With strength of a zombie, she forced my wrists down beside my head. Her weight felt like it finally relaxed on top of my waist. She was now in complete control over all of my movements as she flipped me over to lay flat on my chest.
The pressure above and below me bared on my torso, making it hard to keep air and get air. I gasped out, feeling her move my right arm around my back.
What is she doing now?
"Stop! Cassandra!" I begged for the end of the assault, squirming like an ant trying to free itself from a human boy's magnifying glass.
You've got to be fuckin' kidding me. She's got me, what else does she want? One more shallow breath of oxygen was permitted to relieve my body before the next was ripped from me as she shoved my arm directly up once it laid flat against my back.
