| Chapter Five |
As if that was the key sentence for her to remember, she repeated it like a brainwashed woman, "Nobody leaves."
While Murphy had his back completely to us, Cassandra's whole front faced the people she was about to betray and it radiated danger and obedience for the person she use to dislike so.
Her head was lowered, but her eyes stayed on our souls, waiting for us to make the first move.
"Where do you think you're going?" Doc asked the question without even thinking it through.
Murphy could lie to us, about where he is going and what he will be doing with Lulu. He's not trustworthy.
"Someplace safe from people like you."
When Addy tried to take a step forward, Cassandra let out a low hiss, taking a step forward as well. To avoid a puncture wound from the sharp canines, Addy was forced to take a step back but went a little too far.
She accidentally stepped on my toes without purpose this time, which caused me to grab her waist, catching both of us from a fall.
A heavy hand fell on top of my shoulder, making all of us look at a serious Doc.
"Come on, let's go back to the camp and regroup."
Agreeing with him, we all carefully treaded away from the direction Murphy was going in. Even if we went after him, we'd lose him in these woods.
At the burned-down home, Cassandra stayed away from us but her eyes were like a hawk on his prey.
She was just waiting for us to make the wrong step, to go against her new order. In my heart, I felt like she wanted to hurt us in someway.
For Murphy.
"You didn't have to say all of that." Addy confronted me on my words, but I didn't expect it from her.
I looked into her eyes, making sure to scan her facial features before deciding what to say next.
"You shoved him away. Now that baby is gone."
I scoffed at her continuation of words, "We were all scaring him when we marched up the hill like group therapy."
She's on his side now? I'm in the wrong? No one told her she was in the wrong when she was set to kill him after Mack's death.
"Whether (Y/N) was wrong or right, she needed that, Addy. Just like you needed to be with The Sisters, she needed to be heard. Drop it." 10K defended me, which shocked me the most.
I've never heard him oppose to something the group, let alone Addy, had said.
Addy sighed, looking towards Doc for backup on the next step and away from 10K and me, "I think we gotta go after him."
I moved to sit on the other side of 10K, not wanting to be around someone that was against me relieving what had been on my head, heavily.
"He shouldn't be out there alone, especially with a baby."
That's an understatement.
"We have to figure out what to do with little Miss Sunshine over there."
All of our eyes went to the brunette that was stiff as a board as she watched our body movements. I wonder if the Murphy Bite gave her super hearing.
As if she could even read my thoughts, her head lowered.
"He told her to stop us." I reminded them of the strict order, "If we go, she'll hunt us."
