Naria
While I'm napping, I am also doing a bit of thinking. I remember that one afternoon when I wanted to make love with Ronan. But that was before we were married. Now that we are, why can't we? I've seen him naked. Somewhat.
Even then, would he even want to? I think.
And another thing. With what is happening right now, will it even be worth taking the risk? If I did do it with Ronan, what will be the consequences of such an action? Those thoughts are hard to bear, let alone think about. All I know is that I love him, that I want more of him and to give him more. But again, will he even want to do such a thing?
When I wake up fully refreshed, I go off to find Ronan.
"Ronan? Where are you?" I call.
"I'm in the living room!" he answers.
I follow the hall to where the living room is. He sits on the couch, a book held between his hands.
"Hey, Naria? Did you have a good rest?" he asks, looking up with a smile.
"Yes, thank you," I reply, sitting on the couch and tucking my legs up. I gesture to the book in his hands. "Is that any good?"
"It could use a better plot, to be honest," he says, raising a golden brow, but a hint of amusement is in his tone. "Despite the humor that goes along in it. But I was thinking of going outside. Do you want to come? I found someplace that I think you would like."
"Sure. Let's go. It's still daylight out. We've got a bit of time," I say, swinging my legs to the floor.
"All right. Let's go," Ronan gets up, then pauses, looking at my dress. "Um, I think you might want to change your clothes. We've got a bit of a walk."
I look down at the dress that I'm wearing and consider. "I'll meet you at the door in a few minutes," I say, by way of reply.
Ronan's right about the amount of time.
"Are we there yet?" I ask. Then seeing his stern look, I add apologetically. "I'm sorry. I'm still a bit tired, it seems like."
Ronan says nothing, but lets me clamber onto his back, holding onto my legs, my arms locked around his neck.
"Thank you," I whisper into his ear.
"You're welcome. We're almost there, anyway. It's only a few minutes away now," he says. Then he walks off, carrying me with ease. After five minutes, when I'm about to doze off, Ronan stops. "Wake up, Naria. We're here."
"Huh?" I ask, sleepily. Without realizing what I'm doing, I unlock my arms from Ronan's neck, falling onto the ground and knocking the wind out of me. "Ow!" I exclaim after a few minutes, sitting up and rubbing my head, removing bits of loose grass and dead leaves.
Ronan kneels down beside me, concern on his features. "Are you all right?"
"I think so. Sorry about that," I say, trying to stand.
"Here," Ronan says, gathering me into his arms. "I'll help you."
"Thanks," I mutter, leaning my head on his warm shoulder and closing my eyes. I feel the jostling of Ronan's body as he walks. I keep my arms locked around his neck, shifting slightly. When I'm about to fall asleep again, I hear. "Open your eyes."
I yawn as I open my eyes. "Are we?"
"Aye, look."
I squint through the dim light as night is very close or maybe I'm more tired than I realize. I see a vast lake with flowers and plants dotted at the edge. Trees are dotted here and there with long leafy branches, some with blossoms on them.
