Summer (Chapter 11)

INT. HOSPITAL RORY'S ROOM. NIGHT

We see Rory sitting at the bed with her hospital robe. On her left side she has the hospital machines and on the right there are 2 doors. One for the bathroom and the room's door. She's holding her baby who is wrapped in a pink and green blanket.

Rory:

You are just... perfect! (Makes a pause and grabs the baby's hand) I tell you a little secret, you are my new favorite person but don't tell grandma, ok? (makes a pause) And quite a ride we had, eh?... And the end! (Smiles again) You just couldn't wait anymore to make your big entrance, could you? You definitely get that from your grandma... always running.

The room's door opens and Lorelai and Emily come slowly and stand by the door.

Rory: (Cont'd)

Look baby, who's there?

Lorelai:

(moved) how are you mommy?

Rory:

(She makes a gesture to keep the voice down) Come, come. I want you to meet someone!

Emily:

(Looking to the baby) Lorelai look at her!

Lorelai and Emily come closer to the bed.

Emily: (cont'd)

(Very moved) She's so beautiful!

Rory:

Mum, grandma, I want you to meet my little... our little Amy Gilmore.

Emily:

It's a beautiful name Rory!

Lorelai:

(Really happy) What happened with Nancy?

Rory:

I'll call that the second!

Emily:

What?

Rory:

(Smiles) Just kidding!

Lorelai:

Hi Amy. We are gonna have so much fun!

Emily:

(Looking at Rory) She looks exactly like you!

Rory:

(To Emily) She's a Gilmore, right?

Lorelai:

Can I take her?

Rory:

Sure.

Lorelai take the baby and holds her in her arms. Emily stands next to Lorelai and touches softly the baby's face.

Lorelai:

(moved) Hi there baby... I'm Lorelai, your new best friend!

Rory:

Hey! what about me?

Lorelai:

Sorry kid, your place has been taken!

Emily:

I still can't believe you have a daughter!

Lorelai:

Tell me about it! I still can't believe I'm a grandmother!
