Summer (Chapter 12)

2 WEEKS LATER

INT. LUKE'S DINER. DAY

It's early in the morning and Luke's diner is half crowded. We see Luke taking orders and delivering food. Caesar is at the kitchen cooking. Lorelai comes into the Diner. People start to congratulate her on their way out.

Person 1:

Congratulations Lorelai.

Lorelai:

Thanks!

Tom:

Hey Lorelai congratulations. Everybody is thrilled with Rory's baby!

Lorelai:

Thank you Tom! She's just beautiful, you'll meet her soon.

Luke appears and kisses Lorelai.

Luke:

Good morning grandma.

Lorelai:

Hello hello grandpa!

Luke:

Did Rory wake up?

Lorelai:

Yeah, she was feeding the baby when I left. Boy that baby eats a lot!

Luke:

Well, she's a Gilmore. What can I get you?

Lorelai:

A big coffee and two glazed donuts.

Luke:

Do you want some cream on your donuts?

Lorelai:

Oh, dirty!

Luke:

Come on. (Smiles) You don't change.

Luke's cellphone starts to ring.

Luke:

Hey, I gotta take this... could you please get your...

Lorelai:

Don't worry, after all, I'm married to the owner.

Luke:

(Smiles) Thanks. I'll be right back.

Luke goes to the back to talk. Lorelai goes behind the bar to get her coffee. While she's doing this the phone on the wall starts to ring and she answers.

Lorelai:

(smiling) Hi, Lorelai speaking... (makes a pause) yes, he's my husband, I'm sorry who am I talking to? (makes a pause) Do you think he can you call him back? (makes another pause and her expression changes. She seems annoyed and sad) Yeah, I'll give him your message, don't worry. Ok bye.

Just when she hangs up Luke comes back. He notices Lorelai looks really serious and annoyed.

Luke:

Hey, everything ok?

Lorelai:

(Annoyed) I can't believe you!

Luke:

What?

Lorelai:

You lied to me! You promised you were not gonna keep things from me anymore.
