*Beep. Beep. Beep.*
The alarm shrieks as our beds hug our soft skin, and the pillows forming around our heads. The yellowish ray of the sun illuminates the dust in the air as we twist and turn in our beds. The birds waking up the neighborhood with their gentle hymns as people get up from bed. The whistles and chirps of the birds vibrate through the windowpane and the rays warm up the carpet in the middle of the room - the morning rekindled.
While the alarm continues with its chore, I lifted myself from the bed. Throwing my blanket aside and inhaling quite a large amount of air as I yawn, I put my feet down and slipped them into my slippers. I then turned off my alarm and proceeded to get up from my bed hoping to see Emma readying already and my bag next to my bed. As I proceeded to walk and stretch my back making it crackle, I grew kinda confused as to why Emma still hasn't gotten up yet. The sun is practically gleaming at every wood and ceramic surface around yet she sleeps... peacefully.
I continued to look around the room for my bag. Just as I was about to look under my bed, I saw my bag exactly where it should which is next to my bed, but it wasn't what I expected... It was open, laying on the floor instead of leaning on the wall, books a bit off from their alignment, and my pencils popping out of the front pocket. It looked... exactly how I left it yesterday... why? I'm not saying that she should be responsible for my things but Emma usually tidies this up, what happened?
"Has she... given up on me? Has she given up on everything too..." I asked myself as my eyes slowly begin to tear up, but then I hear this.
"Ace...? What got you up so early?" Emma asks me with her soft but raspy morning voice.
"What do you mean? Aren't we supposed to be preparing for school already?" I asked her, confused as to what is happening.
"You didn't listen to Miss' announcement." She jokingly replied to me as she continues to close her eyes, hug her pillow, and lay down on her bed.
"Wait... announcement? There wasn't any announcement." I asked as I sit down on her bed even more confused.
"There was. You were just too asleep to hear it." She jestingly said to me as she turns back first on her bed and looked at me funnily.
"So what was the announcement then? Come on tell me, please." I said while shaking her feet to wake her up.
"*sigh* There's no school today. Something about a Wednesday Festival for the teachers was happening today. I don't why they didn't just push it to Friday but I believe the teachers deserve it." Emma replied to me just as she pulls herself up and sits down.
"Oh gosh... Why did I miss that?" I disappointingly asked myself, face-palming in the process.
"Because you were acted like Mr. Moodypants the whole week." Emma teased me as she turns herself to the edge of the bed.
"Yeah... Sorry about that... I- I don't know why I did... all of that." I shamefully apologized to her.
"Ace... We all feel like we're the root of all evil in our lives, but it's not always true. Sure, we can bring our misery, like what you did, but a lot of times we don't. The only thing we can do is get over them and build upon it." Emma said to me comfortingly while she hugs me.
"Yeah... too bad I lost all my previous lessons." I jokingly replied to her with a sad but calm voice.
"Hey, it's okay. At least now you're making new ones. That's all that matters in the meantime." She told me. Her words comforting me.
