"Seriously?!" Bradley asked loudly with surprise.
"Yeah, the girl told me that I was familiar. " I replied to him with an excited tone.
"Then how come we're not aware of you?" Ethan asked confusingly as he looks directly at me.
"Tan, do you know who Brex is?" Bradley asked Ethan condescendingly
"No. Why should I bother?" Ethan replied with a smug look.
"My point exactly. " Bradley replied to Ethan as he turns back to me.
"Hmm... So if she's familiar with you, then the school must have a file on you on one of their cabinets." Beth said as she takes a bite off Ethan's sandwich.
"That's possible. Should we ask dad?" Emma asked me.
The atmosphere then turned into silence. Emma looked at me in anticipation while the others proceed to eat their lunches. Do I need to involve Mr. Stephenson in this? He's already too busy with one lead, why should I involve him in this one? However, he's the only one that can help me with this... I then looked at Emma.
"You know what... Let's not. Let's not involve Mr. Alex. He's already too caught up in my mess." I replied with hesitation.
"But Ace... This is my dad we're talking about. If anything, he's the best." Emma said trying to convince me.
"Yeah, well... Then let's involve your dad when I have the files in hand. Maybe, later on, this week if I ever get called to the principal's office." I said as I try to find a seat to sit on.
"If that's your decision, I'll respect that. Just remember to involved our dad in this okay?" Emma said to me with relief.
"Sure. " I replied with hesitation still.
As we finish lunch and as the day goes by, my mind remained within the stasis of fear and confusion. I think of Mr. Huxley and his knowledge about me... then I think about what the girl said about being familiar with me. All the pieces are coming together and yet I'm still not ready. Though, despite that, a glimmer of excitement wells up in me. My obsession with my past will now be satiated a day from now... But, what will I do when it does become satiated?
I've contemplated on this question in mind for the entire half of the next day. As the whiteboard gets filled and emptied with multitudes of writings, as the erasers and whiteouts rubbed against the pages of papers, I thought of nothing but that file... I know it's just a day before I fully get my past but that file continued to play within my mind with the temptation of revelation. It's not gonna hurt anything right? Just a glimpse would do. It wouldn't be necessarily wrong if I were to go to the office and looked at the files, wouldn't it be? So with the eagerness set in mind, the lunchtime bell rang and the classroom doors flung open while kids get out. Emma and I then made my way to our cafeteria table where the group was hanging out eating.
"He-he-hey! Mr. Big Day is coming!" Bradley jokingly yelled while we approach the table.
"So, you excited for your big day tomorrow?" MiNa asked me while I unpacked my lunch.
"I am *chuckles* But... Uhm... I'm more excited for today." I whispered excitedly to the group.
"Why are you excited and why are we whispering?" Ethan asked me.
"Well... I'm planning to just take a peek at the files in Mrs. Labrador's office." I whispered to the group ecstatically.
"Woah... hold on your horses there, smart guy. You sure about this?" Bradley asked me with surprise and worry.
