It felt as if he had been sleeping on the task Hee Suk has assigned him for days now. Anxious, Jae Yi thought about his actions; a script of violence playing in his head as he planned out his moves carefully, thinking about what he should do-

All he needed to do was make either one of them bleed somehow and stand within a range just close enough for him to be able to activate his ability.

Easy, he thought.

But not quite. If it was that simple, he would have gotten it done by now. But worrying now would be useless; he had already agreed to it. He can't possibly back out now- besides, he didn't even have the slightest clue on where that man could be or how to contact him.

Heaving a heavy sigh, Jae Yi walked down the stairway before hearing the sound of a familiar laugh- Hueningkai.

But he wasn't alone ( he never really is most of the time ) Soobin and Taehyun were with him.

Just my luck, Jae Yi sighed bitterly to himself.

But it was worth a shot. Slowly, he followed the brunette, getting close just within an arm's length... holding in his breath as he went for a firm push from behind.

Just as Hueningkai was about to lose his balance, a hand held him back, keeping him from falling down the flight of stairs.

Jae Yi instantly turned around; Yeonjun was the one who caught Hueningkai. But how? He didn't even notice the latter coming- he was almost sure that no one else was behind him.

It was almost as if Yeonjun had magically appeared out of thin air.

"Whoops, sorry!" Jae Yi mumbled as soon as everyone seemed to have caught onto the situation of the moment and realised what had happened, their eyes roving from Yeonjun to Hueningkai, back to Yeonjun, and then to Jae Yi.

"What kind of fucking prank did you just try to pull?" Yeonjun flared, his gaze resting on Jae Yi's unconcerned face. "If I hadn't catch Hueningkai, what would've happened then?" he continued, feeling his anger boiling.

"Eh, beats me," he merely shrugged.

"You fucking jerk-" Yeonjun spat, raising his fist-

"Stop, let's not get into trouble," Soobin reasoned, cutting in between the two. His soothing voice seeming to have calmed Yeonjun down a little as he took a deep breath, withdrawing his fist.

Glaring at Jae Yi, Yeonjun held onto Hueningkai's shoulder before walking away, leaving him all alone in the empty stairway with his thoughts.

There must be a reason why Hee Suk didn't tell him to investigate Yeonjun, but rather, the people around him.

I must figure out what that reason is.

Lunch arrived as the four took their seats at their usual spot in the cafeteria. Hueningkai looked a bit shaken earlier (considering how he could've broken a bone or two) but seems to be doing just fine now.
