"Why would Hee Suk call for us all of a sudden?" Hyewon piped.

No one answered her question, their answer just as good as hers as Hyewon shuffled her feet uncomfortably.

"If I'm not mistaken, he assigned you two a task, didn't he?" Ji Woo asked, nodding to Da Eun and Jung mo. "Perhaps today's meeting is related to that."

"Just asked us to bring the kid's older brother," Jung Mo shrugged.

"Insisted that we kill him already, but Hee Suk disagreed. Maybe he has other plans in mind," Da Eun added.

"Speak of the devil."

Everyone turned their heads around to see the silhouette of a figure by the stairway. Hee Suk descended the stairs. Rain pounded against the glass panels, setting the atmosphere of the room chillier than usual. The sound of his chair being pulled back screeched across the marble floor. Silence clicked by.

"Tonight. It's happening tonight," Hee Suk said lowly.

It took a good minute for them to understand what that meant as they looked up, each of their faces begging to disagree. Ji Woo opened her mouth to talk before Hee Suk shot her a look as she closed it back. Everyone else seemed to have gleaned that no exceptions or convincing are to be taken.

"I will be meeting with each of you individually later to brief you on what you will be doing. Jung Mo, Da Eun, I'd like to see you two first. The rest of you may return to your rooms until I call upon you."

"Yes," they chorused, getting up as Jung Mo and Da Eun remained seated.

However, as Secretary Ji approached the door, she heard her name being called out from behind.

"Hyewon?"

Turning around, her gaze was returned by Ji Woo's, whose eyes pierced right back at hers, as if she was trying to read her mind. "What's wrong with your hand?" Ji Woo asked, about to approach her.

And that was when it just clicked in that her hand was injured by Ji Woo earlier today when they met as Secretary Ji. She instantly hid her hand behind, obscuring it from the latter's gaze. "It's nothing. I accidentally injured myself on the way here," she lied, her bandaged hand still hidden.

Ji Woo said nothing but the suspicion expressed on her face remained. "We'll see about that," she said softly before promptly walking away.

Yeonjun was now sitting on the edge of his seat, his eyes glued to the words written on the rain-stained window.

Tonight.

More words were being written now.

Or "he" dies.

He? Yeonjun thought to himself. Who could 'he' possibly be―
