Against the night sky, Da Eun carried her hostage in her arms, leaping across low building tops until finally arriving at the spot. A familiar setting of a worn-down motel came into sight as she walked towards it, occasionally looking down to make sure the boy was still fast asleep.

A dimly lit path stretched in front of her as she followed it. Walking down the stairs until she reached the lowest level as Da Eun walked into one of the rooms.

Pushing the door open, Hee Suk was waiting inside. His eyes laid upon the boy in her arms as a wicked smile stretched across his face.

"Thank you, Da Eun. Bring him to the first floor later," he said, pleased with her performance.

"Of course," she replied formally.

"And Jung Mo?"

"I couldn't come in contact with him after splitting. Must've been beaten by Yeonjun by now."

"Which means he's coming soon," Hee Suk breezed, looking much calmer than she had anticipated.

"I thought we were supposed to watch over the kid's brother. Not go out to lure him and bringing him here," said Da Eun, raising an eyebrow.

"Change of plans. I had to make the two of you go instead of the original people in charge of that. Nam Gi is surveying the boy's brother," Hee Suk responded curtly.

"And Hyewon?"

Da Eun caught a shine in his eyes as she said that name as Hee Suk smiled back at her before stepping aside. The light now illuminating a woman tied to a chair behind him. Her limbs were bound to the chair with a strip of duct tape sealed across her mouth. She looked at the latter in horror as a feeling sparked inside of her.

"Why, isn't this Aeri's little minion?" She cooed. Secretary Ji shot her a dirty look as she glared back, only serving to entertain her further as Da Eun let out a laugh.

"Been hiding under our nose all along. But don't worry, she'll certainly pay the price for it." Hee Suk turned to Secretary Ji, who looked back at him, scared. He turned back to Da Eun. "After bringing Soobin to the room upstairs, do help me to lock up our little spy here with the brother."

"As you wish."

At that point, Ji Yeon didn't know who to look at as she hung her head low, making eye contact with neither of them as all she could focus on was staying alive until Aeri comes... if she ever does, that is.

Bursting through the door, Aeri walked inside. Those nearby seemed to have noticed the distress on her face as one of them asked, "Mrs Choi, is something wrong?"

Aeri didn't look the slightest bit less worried by that question as she looked around frantically. "The intruders―w―where are they?" She breathed, trying to catch her breath as more staff went downstairs to check what was wrong.

"Intruders? What do you mean?"

"S―someone called me here. They said there were intruders attacking HQ―Yujin. She called me here. Where is she?"

One of the interns nodded towards their left as she looked in that direction; Yujin, who was write by her desk, unbothered and immersed in her work. "As much as I know, Yujin hasn't made any phone calls in the past hour. No one outside of the staff members has come inside all day too. Are you sure you heard it correctly?"

"Impossible. I thought―" Her sentence broke off as Aeri looked around, everything seeming to be functioning as it should, no signs of chaos or disorder happening... HQ looked more or less normal.

"So, no one called me here?"

"No, ma'am. Is everything okay?"

At that moment, everything did seem like it was okay. Until Aeri remembered her leaving Secretary Ji behind to watch her son. Almost at once, she reached for her phone as she dialled for her secretary.

A series of beeps answered her before going straight to voicemail. Horror clawed at her stomach. Something must've happened to her, which meant that Yeonjun could be in danger as well. The thought of that made her head spin.

"Mrs Choi―are you okay?" A female voice peeped, bringing her out of her trance.

"Y―y―yeonjun, I have to get to him," she breathed, turning for the door.

"What? What do you mean―"

"Stay here and make sure nothing happens while I'm gone," Aeri said feverishly, pushing the door open as she walked outside.

"BUT WHERE ARE YOU GOING―"

Her sentence was cut off, leaving her question unanswered as Aeri simply disappeared from her sight. The latter leaving just as quickly as she came.
