"Haki is a mysterious power that allows the user to utilize their own spiritual energy for various purposes. It can be used to sense people's spiritual energy and predict their actions, give the user a protective coating of spiritual energy, and, for a certain group of "chosen ones", overpower the willpower of others. All living beings in the world are capable of learning Haki; however, most people do not notice it or fail to awaken it." Shanks explained while walking in front of me. A bottle of sake in his hand. I nodded my head in understanding. Excited to learn more.

"Haki is separated into three categories, or types. The three types of Haki are: Kenbunshoku Haki, which grants users a sixth sense of the world around them and limited precognitive abilities." I raised my hand up to stop him for a moment. "I honestly don't know what you're talking about. Use simple words Shanks, I'm trying to learn here."

"Hehe! Sorry! This was what my old mentor told me when I was a kid. And I was as confused as you're now." He chuckled.

"What I mean is the users of this Haki can sense people's presence, strength, emotions, and intentions. An advanced level of Kenbunshoku allows the user to see a short period into the future. Which is very rare by the way." Shanks took a large sip from his drink.

'Katakuri can see the future.' I thought. 'he's more advanced in Kenbunshoku than any other pirate I know.'

"Second we have Busoshoku Haki. which allows the user to use their own spiritual energy as armor to defend against attacks, as well as make their own attacks more potent. A person can apply the armament to a section of their body, over their entire body, and even apply it to their weapons. An advanced level of Busoshoku allows the user to emit the armament a short distance without a medium. And a higher grade of advanced Busoshoku allows the user to make the emitted armament flow into a target's body and destroy it from the inside out."

"Really?! Wow!" I jumped from my seat in excitement. "You can do it? I mean, you can use your armament to destroy your enemy?" I asked him and he nodded his head with a proud smile.

"It will take a lot of time and training to achieve that level but I'm pretty sure someday you'll master it." Shanks laughed. "The last type is called Haoshoku Haki. It is a rare form of Haki that allows the user to exert their own willpower over others. " He said.

"This type of Haki cannot be attained through training. At all. Many pirates tried to obtain it but no one succeed. Only one in several million people are born with this ability."

"Like Luffy for example." I replied. "Yup. I was shocked when I heard Anchor used it at the war. Knocking out almost all the Marines." Shanks sighed. "His father Monkey D Dragon and his Grandfather Garp can use it, so it's only make sense. It is said that whoever possesses this type of Haki has the qualities of a king, and are known as Supreme Rulers. That's why the world government consider anyone who can use it an extremely dangerous threat." Another sip from his drink and the bottle became empty.

"Oh damn! I need another one..." Shanks pouted. "Shanks, I won't let you get drunk. You're here to teach me how to use Haki remember?" I glared at him.

"Oops! My mistake!" He chuckled. "That's all I know about the three types of Haki. Now let's start with the hard part: how to master them."

"I'm up for any challenge!" I smirked. "Very well then. Let's start with Kenbunshoku Haki. Here." Shanks appeared behind me and put a black bandana on my eyes. Blocking my view.
