Stranded

Chapter 33

I don't see Dallas until I go back to school and even then he doesn't talk to me. He leaves the car with Chase but then goes off and talks to these other guys in our year who were in his room on the trip apparently and reached out to him before he came back.

I got all this information from Chase of course. He didn't tell me himself obviously cause he's not talking to me. I ignore the fact that it's hurting me as best I can as I mess around with Maggie and Paisley. We make eye contact a few times and I give him small smiles. 

When I reach home I call him but he doesn't answer the phone. I decide that maybe he's just realised that he can do better than me. He seems to have grown popular fast and a lot of girls who are much prettier than me are hitting on him. He makes everyone in his new friend group laugh.

He still talk to Chase all the time and I see them together having laughs. I'm just the one who's been cut off. It's the school dance soon and I'm really excited because that'll probably help me get my mind off him. My dates are Paisley and Maggie even though their dates are Chase and Kieran.

At the dance I dance with Paisley and Maggie before they run off with their respective dates. I stand there alone until Maggie walks up to me. "Walk with me." "What about your date?" She shrugs. "He can dance with Paisley cause Chase went off to pee."

She links her arm through mine. "I'm so glad that you've found yourself. I wish it didn't take you being stuck on a deserted island for you to do so." She scopes the room. "We've got to find you a man. I'm not leaving you just hanging by yourself or fifth wheeling with us."

I chuckle and I shake my head as she looks around the room. "Oh my god." I look to see Dallas standing outside in the rain. "He looks great." She smiles at me. "Go babe. Have your moment." She unlinks our arms and blows me a kiss as I walk away. I open the door and look at him.

"I've been trying to find the perfect thing to say. I'm sorry I've been so horrible. I don't even know why I've been acting like this. I guess I just felt like I had to go back to being who I was and I didn't feel like I could be fake me with you around because you bring out the real me but I'm done being an idiot."

"Shut up." I grab his face and kiss him. "Wanna dance Kiki?" I groan. "I thought we were done with that nickname." He chuckles. "No the nickname lives on forever." I chuckle. "In case if you haven't noticed it's pouring." He shrugs. "We've been through so much worse."

I nod and grab his outstretched hand as we dance and I kiss him again. I hear cheering from inside and look to see all my friends inside. Then they run out and join us. Paisley and Maggie hug me tight and spin us around. Then we all start dancing.

I look at Dallas. "I think I love you Dally." He smiles at me. "I think I love you too Kiki." He hugs me tight and my hold on him tightens as he kisses me again.
