I heard the door open and shut,so I ran out."Ruby did he leave?!Tell me he didn't le-"Then I saw him asleep on the couch."I just took out the tra-"She came over and hugged me.

"Lay down next to him.I'm sure he would appreciate that."I went over to the couch and got his head on my lap.I heard what he said.I know that Ruby knows something but I love him.

He's my brother."I don't care about an empire,I just want my brother back.It shouldn't be that complicated.It shouldn't be this difficult,Ruby!"She smiled."I know.But he's difficult.Understand that."

I nodded."I guess,I hoped everything had stayed the same too much.I just need to adjust.I'm the one who left,right?""You did what you thought was right for your education,Lia."

"Thanks for understanding and helping me understand him."She wiped my tears away."As fun as I am,I know when to be serious.Good night,Cordelia."

"Good night,Ruby."She left and I slept next to my brother.Although,I just mostly thought about our memories."I love you,Damien."I kept playing with his hair until I fell asleep.

I woke up with another door bell."Ruby?""I'M IN THE SHOWER!"I tried hard not to wake up Damien and then I answered the door."Whoever you a-"I saw that it was Roman.

"So this is where you moved into.Frankly,I'm not here to talk with you.Where is Dami-"He stepped in but I stopped him by putting my hand on his chest."He's asleep.Not today,Roman."

I gently pushed him away and slowly closed the door.Ruby came out of the shower."Who was it?""Roman,looking for Damien.I asked him to leave."She sighed."Let him in."

"You do that."I got back to Damien.Roman sat down with Ruby in front of us."What's up?""Nothi-"Ruby cut him off."She doesn't care."Then I looked up at them.

"As long as he's safe and sound,I don't care about anything."Ruby turned back to Roman.They kept staring."Either way,I'm not talking with her around."I nodded."I'll leave."

Then Damien woke up."Where the fu-"He saw me."Hey,Damien.""All of you,leave."Ruby left but Roman didn't."You're not the boss of me,Remington.""You might be an insuff-"I cut him off.

"It's whatever.We can talk in my room."I sniffed."No!This isn't your house!You are the one who is supposed to leave."I stepped in front of Damien and got his hands in mine.

"I just want to talk to you.Please,don't start a fight.I know he's such an insufferable prick and how annoying he fucking is.I lived with the guy just a few days,which was enough."

Roman got mad and slammed me to the wall.He started choking me and I heard him say it."YOU FUCKING WATCH HOW YOU TALK TO ME,REMINGTON!"

Damien got him off of me and while I tried to breathe,Ruby broke it off."ALL OF YOU BESIDES CORDELIA,OUT OF MY FUCKING HOUSE!!!"Damien got mad but so did Roman.

"If not here,then outside.""Fucking fine by me!"They left and Ruby rushed over to me."I really shouldn't have left those two alone.Once enemies,always enemies."

"I just wanted to talk to him alone.That's it.That was all it was!"She hugged me and then we got a call from the hospital."Are you the sister of Damien Remington?"

"That's me.Why?Is he okey?!""He's been in a fight.He is still asleep but he has a broken rib and his  shoulder was dislocated.A guy brought him in.He said that he did it."

"Will he be ok?""Your brother will be fine."I sighed."One more question,where is the other guy?""Police got him.You can calm down.If it was intended,you are safe."

I nodded."I'm on my way,doctor.Thanks a lot."I turned to Ruby as she came in with our teas."Who was that?"I sighed."The hospital.Damien got beat up by Roman big time."

"WHAT?!""Oh you haven't heard the best part.Roman got arrested because he admitted that he did it.Which is so new,he used to deny it.Shall we take your car or mine?"

"You are way too calm about this.""Happened to me a lot.Not so much to worry.They're both alive and recovering right?Right."I got up and decided to change before I went to the hospital.

I wore my white AirForces with anklets and then we left.Ruby left to break Roman out and I went to check out Damien."A decade yet some things don't change!"

"Oh shut up!You little shit!Doctor called you an hour ago!""You're lucky I even showed up after this stunt you two pulled.Mom or dad isn't here anymore,meaning you are my responsibility!"

"No!You are my responsibility!Not the other way around.Why do you think we hurt each other.I hurt him because he hurt you and he hurt me because I hurt him!"

"Half ass lame excuses!You two have been enemies for as long as I can remember!Ever since you two met in school after his family moved from Italy,you two have been enemies!"

"This is not an excuse!You shouldn't even have those bruises on your neck!"I leaned over and kissed his forehead."However you may try to push me away,I don't care."

I backed away."You're not the guy you used to be and I need to adjust.So,I'm just going to dismiss this happened.I'm not the girl I used to be either."

"I can see that.You never used to go against me!""Well,I had to learn how to stand up for myself when I was all alone out there!"

"IT WAS YOUR CHOICE TO LEAVE AND YOUR CHOICE TO STAY!""BECAUSE I WASN'T HAPPY AT HOME!NOT BEING ABLE TO LIVE UP TO OUR PARENTS' EXPECTATIONS...I HAD TO LEAVE!"

"Why didn't you tell me?""Not like you would've let me.We messed around a lot but I never was the sister you wanted.I learned to live with that!But I don't want that anymore!"

He took out the needle and got up from the bed."You were the sister I always wanted."He hugged me."I was just a dumb kid who was mad at his sister for leaving."

"I didn't want to leave you but that was my only escape!I'm so sorry!"We sat down at the edge of the bed and he made me look at him."We both need to adjust.It's been a decade,Lia."

I smiled through the tears."That'd be great."Then he went cold again and backed away."Get the fuck out."I rolled my eyes as I saw that Jeremiah came with Bruno.

"I'll leave you boys to it."I turned around to take a last glance and mouthed my words."I love you,Damien."He mouthed his words too."I love you too,Lia."

I left the room and Ruby was there."So?There was a lot of yelling."I nodded but smiled as I wiped my tears."But it's better now."We hugged."I'm so happy to hear that."

I was happy too.
