That One Night

I woke up late at night to go to the bathroom.I got out and...The moon was shining so bright up in all the darkness around it.I grabbed the little vodka from the mini fridge and sat at the edge.

I decided to call Ruby as it was only early afternoon over there."Hey.You have time?""Sure.How are you?"I sighed."I don't know.Let's face time and draw togather."

"Sure.I'm already drawing at the coffee house."I put my phone somwhere we could see each other and then I grabbed my notebook and pencils.

I drew the moon."Ruby?""Yes?"I showed her my drawing."What do you think?"She smiled."Looks good to me.How about mine?"I saw her drawing a beautiful orchid.

"Are you going to color it?""Yeah.I was between purple and yellow.Which one do you think I should do?"I sighed."I'd go with purple.""Good advice."

An hour later,Roman woke up."Ruby,I'll call you later.This was great."She smiled."Sure.I had fun.See you later."We hung up and I got up from the ground.

"I couldn't fall back asleep.""I could see that.What are you up to?"He sat down and got me on his lap."I drew the moon.I also took the shot vodka from the fridge."

"Why would you do that?""Alcohol is supposed to make people dizzy and sleepy.It didn't work.So I didn't drink more.Instead,I called Ruby and we drew togather."

"Are you excited about going back to Rome tomorrow?"I nodded."I missed Rome.I missed the manor.I didn't miss your father but I missed Nora and your brothers.Not Gio.He,for some reason,doesn't like me."

"I know why but it's not important.""How is it not important.I want to know why someone would dislike me."He sighed."You want to know?I'll tell you later.Please,let's not ruin tonight."

I scoffed."What did I do?""You didn't do anything.Come here."I snuggled closer to him and while we sat there."Sleep,amore."I nodded."Good night again,daddy."He smirked against my forehead.

"I love it when you call me that."I nodded."I know."

Next morning,I woke up in the jet with a different set of sweatpants and with a blanket covering me.It was so soft,I WANTED TO DIE IN IT!

I got up from the seat and looked around for Roman.Then I realised that my head was lying on his lap all along."Good morning,amore."I climbed up on his lap."Good morning."

"I got your clothes to wear before we land.Alright?"I nodded."How long will it take to go to Rome?""It's been four hours.I was going to wake you up in an hour if you hadn't."

"Well,I woke up."Basilio showed up."Boss,your-Good morning,Donna."I smiled."Good morning to you too,Basilio."Roman rolled his eyes."Yeah,yeah.What were you saying?"

"Breakfast is ready.""Send it."We had breakfast togather and then I got some work done."Basilio?I need you to check these files for me.I double checked but I think you should too."

"Sure,Donna."I turned to Roman."Don't look at me like that.You would fix my mistake without telling me.He at least tells me."He rolled his eyes and went back to his own work.

Two hours before we landed,I got up and got my clothes to change.I wore a black skirt with a black top to match.Black stiletto six inch thigh high boots and a blazer on top of it all.

I sat in front of Roman instead of his lap."Come here.""Roman,please.My head hurts,I just want to listen to my music a little.My stomache is killing me and that's a whole other thing!"

"Listen to your music on my lap,love."I smirked."Believe me,you want me to turn you on.I know that."He scoffed."I don't know what you're talking about.Get hat cute ass here where it belongs."

I sat down on his lap and started listening my playlist.

I don't know how it all happened but time flied by fast and we were in Rome.Just in time for dinner,in fact."Mom!""Bambina,welcome back you two."

Since Roman has been softening up about me and Enzo's friendship,I hugged him too."Bambina,I thought we'd cook togather but if you're tired I could get the-"

"I'll change and meet you in the kitchen,mom.""I'll be waiting."Then bunch of kids came over with a couple of women following them."You must be Cordelia."

Roman sighed."Adele,meet my cousins' wives and their kids.My father's older brother's daughter in laws."I nodded."Wow.I didn't know you had an uncle."

One of them leaned to my ear."Probably because his father killed him to get in charge."She backed away."But we're all past it.It was a lot time ago.Way before even Alessandro-"

Then she didn't continue."Who's Alessandro,Roman?""Not now.Don't you need to change and cook with my mother."I sighed."I know you're just delaying it.But fine.I'll play your game."

I turned to the girls and kids."It was nice to meet you all but Roman is right.I'm supposed to go cook with mo-Nora.I'll see you all at the table."

I changed into a t-shirt of Roman's with short sleeves and headed to kitchen."Hey,mom.""I was thinking we'd make pasta.Tagliatelle seemed like a good idea."

"Tagliatelle sounds perfect.I have this really good sauce recipe I figured out here.I can do that.""The one with red wine or white wine?"

"Red.""Oh...That one was good."We spent about an hour in the kitchen togather with Nora."What would happen if I didn't put pepper in the sauce?"

"You don't have to.The sauce is already great."I scoffed."Mom,did you taste it?!"She shrugged."We are so getting drunk from this sauce tonight."

We both bursted out laughing and then left the kitchen to get ready for dinner.I came to the bedroom at the same time Roman did."How did the cooking go with my mother?"

"You have no idea.It was amazing!"While I got ready,I told him about what we did and I just kept talking and talking.He listened every word I said and laughed with me if he felt like it.

I turned to Roman."How do I look?""Amazing and breathtaking as always."I bit my lip."Don't do that!You and I are both tired and we both need to go down there to eat with my entire family!"

"Ugh!Fine!"He sighed."Why did you do that on purpose?""I don't like your dad.He pisses you off and upsets you.I like leaving sassy remarks but I'm too tired for that one."

"I'll do the talk with my father."I nodded."Alright."We got down there and all the grown ups were slowly coming togather."We skipped drinking due to the meal's sauce."

"Probably a good choice for the greater good."One of the cousins came over."So,Nora arranged the marriage.How was it being forced into a marriage?"

"I wasn't forced into anything."We all settled at the table."So if it wasn't arranged by Nora,nor was it arranged,how did you two end up togather?"

"Long story,cuz.""How did you two meet?"I jumped to that one."Even longer story."One of the boys that was walking by bursted out laughing.I turned to him."Unbrella Academy?"

"You are the one who quoted Five Hargreeves!Not me!I just came to talk to my father."I turned back to the table and a while later,Roman's father spoke up.

"The sauce is better than what you made over the years,Nora."I sighed."Uhm...Actually...I made the sauce."Roman smirked."You were saying father?When we were talking earlier?"

"Oh,fuck you,Roman.I hate this Tagliatelle!And it's damn sauce!"
