⎮Midtown School - November⎮

"Why did they have to put me in charge of the yearbook?" I complain to MJ while we are walking down the hall to our lockers. "It's only November and while it's been easy to get photos, it's harder to get people interested in the yearbook." I groan.

"I don't understand why people wouldn't be interested," MJ adds while we zoom past people in the hallway. "The yearbook is super important, especially with how many clubs the school offers." She says as we arrive at my locker. "They always complain about how the yearbook looks but don't join to make changes." She says.

"Just like Student Government," I say grabbing my folder for the yearbook club. "They moved elections back because no one would run, I was thinking of it but with everything with my family, I can't take on a major role like being class president," I say with a frown grabbing my AcaDeca stuff too.

"I mean what happens if no one runs?" MJ asks while we walk across the hall to her locker. "Will they just reuse the presidents from last year?" She asks as she grabs her stuff. We start walking down the hall to the yearbook room since the yearbook is an elective like a class.

"Yeah, that's exactly what they will do, so Liz Allen will be the President again and AcaDeca captain," I say while we go into the classroom. I see nobody else in the room yet and sigh. "What am I doing wrong MJ?" I ask confused while loading the computer.

"You aren't doing anything wrong, Evie, it's just people are stupid." She states bluntly while we start getting ready for the meeting. "So, what's been going on between you and Harry?" She asks casually while grabbing the folders with everyone's assignments.

"N-Nothing." I stutter, cheeks turning red as MJ raises her eyebrow at me. "Fine, I like him a lot but I'm unsure if he feels the same about me," I say nervously, playing with the ends of my hair.

"That boy is crazy about you Evie, even your brother knows it," MJ states bluntly. She picks up her crisis journal and shows me a sketch of Harry staring at someone. "I drew that when he was staring at you." She says with an unusually soft smile. "If the opportunity presents itself, do it." She says as the bell rings, signifying that our meeting is about to start. Some of my friends come into the room including Ned, Peter, and Harry.

"Hey, guys come on in," I say with a smile. All of them sit around along with a couple of others that want to be in the yearbooks. "So today's meeting is now started, I will hand out assignments and we need to talk about what we want to be included in this year's yearbook," I inform them, looking down at my clipboard.

"What if we added a socials page with photos from our school's different social media accounts?" Ned asks making me smile. I nod and write the idea on the whiteboard.

"That's a good idea."MJ states before looking down at her notes. "Did we get a yearbook club page written down, somehow last year they forgot it?" She asks. I nod and write it on the board.
