⎮Norway- 1 Week Later⎮
"So why are we cleaning out your old place in Norway?" I question Natasha while we pull up to an old-looking building. "Dad's definitely going to kill me when I get back if Papa doesn't beat him to it." She parks the car, giving me a raised eyebrow, knowing that I left them both a note, explaining I was with Natasha so technically, I wasn't breaking my grounding.
My boots crunch on the ground as we walk up to the place and we see another car parked out front. She quickly pulls out a gun, holding it up and signaling for me to step behind her as I grab a dagger from my thigh holster since I didn't want to draw attention by using my powers. She goes forward as I watch her back, gripping the dagger tightly. She opens the back door to her bedroom and there's a man sleeping on the bed, someone who I've never seen before. She shakes his leg and startles him.
"You're in my bed," Natasha comments to the guy as he wakes. He stares at her for a second, eyes landing on me before rolling his eyes.
"I-I'm not even under the covers." He denies, standing up. "Rick Mason." He introduces himself to me, sticking out his hand. I shake it with a small smirk.
"Evangeline Stark." I respond, eyebrows furrowing at how familiar he looks. He sees the look I'm giving him and gives me a small smile.
"I knew your mom, Ama-Ariella." He informs me, correcting himself. "I was a SHIELD agent until the Hydra ops screwed me over, created a new life for myself." He says, noticing the look I was giving him. I give him a sympathetic nod, knowing what Hydra was like and their lengths.
"Did you get everything on my list?" Natasha inquires, steering the topic away from SHIELD, not wanting to dwell on it. "I want to clean out this part of my life." She adds seeing the look on his face.
"Yes, I got all the stuff that you didn't take from Budapest along with some other apartments, I figured you could clean this palace out," Rick states, handing a box full of things to Natasha. "Once you're all done here, just give me a call and I'll get this place ready for the next lost soul." He adds a joke at the end.
"Thanks," Natasha says shortly, looking over at the box hesitantly. "I'll have the kid help me and we'll make sure not to trash the place." She jokes before he heads toward the door, grabbing another box and handing it to me.
"Are you okay Natasha?" He asks worriedly. "I saw the news, all the crazy things with the Avengers and the accords." He whispers, a glance toward me to see if I was paying attention but I was already rummaging the fridge for a drink.
"I'm fine, just a mistake was made and now Tony's fixing it." Natasha shortly states before they say their goodbyes. Rick turns toward me after he finishes his goodbye to Natasha.
"If you need anything kid." He offers, giving me a card with his name on it. I thank him before he leaves. Natasha and I start going through the boxes, throwing out old mail and some of the old clothes that don't fit her anymore. She gives me a couple of cute vintage pieces and training outfits that can't be thrown away, that I throw into my backpack.
