Alois POV

Two months and one week... It has been two months and a week since we arrived in this manor. Yes, it was a bit hard to adjust at first, but everyone did their best to make us feel at home, especially Nanny and the (Y/L/N) family.

Nanny Isabelle did an excellent job at taking care of us. Not only that, she also taught us how to read, write, and other useful things. She was like a nanny and a tutor at the same time.

Mr. and Mrs.- I mean, Uncle (Y/F/N) and Auntie (Y/M/N) really made an effort to make us feel at home, like we belong here. They treated us like family.

And (Y/N)... (Y/N) was (Y/N). 'She is my closest friend. No, that does not sound right. She is my dearest friend. Umm... that does not sound right either. Oh, I know! She is my BEST friend. There we go. Perfect!'

To me, (Y/N) is like the sister I never had. She is caring, kind, and sweet. She was always there for me when I needed her. And I... don't have enough words to fully describe her.

Oh but do not be fooled. No, no, no, no. NO. If she were a dessert, she would probably be the sweetest, prettiest cake in the finest cake shop, but be warned. There is something... something lurking beneath that frosting.

That day, that day when I met her changed my whole life. 'The bad days are finally over. It's just rainbows and sunshine up ahead. Finally, finally I can be happy. We can be happy. And just when I thought things could not get better-'

"Lord and Lady (Y/L/N), Sir and Lady Trancy have arrived," Mr. Jones announced.

"Uncle George and Auntie Margaret are here!" (Y/N) screamed in excitement as she ran towards the door.

"Hey, (Y/N)! Wait for me!" I rushed to the door with Luka trailing behind me.

"I want to see Uncle George and Auntie Margaret too! Wait for me!" Luka exclaimed.

"Now, now, children. Mary and Anna just mopped the floor so it's still quite slippery. Do be careful now," Nanny Isabelle warned.

"Yes, Nanny," we all replied in unison.

"Where are my precious darlings?" Auntie Margaret's voice rang through the entire hall. "There you are!" As soon as her eyes landed on ours, she engulfed us into a big, warm embrace.

"Hey, how about me? Is Auntie Margaret the only one you missed?" Uncle George asked. We broke the hug with Auntie Margaret and gave him one too.

Greetings were swiftly exchanged between the two couples. Soon, Mr. Jones escorted us all to the dining room for dinner.

I feel so full. Dinner was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed every last bit of it. Chef Taylor surely did an excellent job tonight.

"May I have everyone's attention, please," Uncle (Y/F/N) said as he gently tapped his glass with silverware. 'Huh, I wonder what is this going to be about.' Then, he turned to me and Luka. "Jim, Luka, I am pleased to tell you that we have finally found the most suitable family for you!"

Hold on... Really?!

"Really, Uncle (Y/F/N)?" Luka asked.

"Yes, Luka. They are sitting across you right now," Uncle (Y/F/N) said with a smile.

Right then and there, the realisation hit me — Uncle George and Auntie Margaret are going to be our new parents.

"That is right! We are your new parents. George and I adopted you two," Aun- I mean, Mother, said with glee.

"Margaret and I have always dreamed to have children. However, due to some reasons, we could not..." Father said with a sad face.

"So, when (Y/M/N) told us that they were searching for a family for two orphaned boys, we couldn't just sit around and do nothing."

"Then, why didn't you immediately take us home?" Luka asked. "We already met each other more than a month ago."

"Well, we wanted to get to know you first, and we wanted you to get to know us too," Father replied. "We wanted to see if we were fit to be your parents before we take you home. We dis it for your sake and for our sake too."

"Jim? Earth to Jim. Earth to Jim!" (Y/N) waved her hands in front of me. "Why aren't you saying anything? Are you not happy?" She asked.

"S-sorry. I was just so surprised, and I didn't know what to say. I... I just couldn't believe it." I smiled at Mother and Father. "I'm so glad that we've finally found our new parents. We are now one big happy family!"

Oh what a happy day it was. We finally found our new parents. And the best part was, they were Auntie and Uncle Trancy! They have been nothing but kind and gentle since the day we met them. They made us feel warm and happy deep inside. They made us feel cared and loved. If I were to choose anyone in the world to be my parents, I would definitely choose them without a doubt.

'I am so happy right now. I hope this happiness never ends.'

Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever.
