(Y/N) POV
"Too puffy."
"Too formal."
"I don't like this colour."
"Too casual."
"Too plain."
"Eh...?"
"You do not like any of these dresses, milady?" Mary asked.
"No, not really. They don't feel right for the occasion," I replied.
Mary returned the clothes inside the huge closet and searched some more. "Not this... not that..." She mumbled to herself. "Ah, this might be the one." She turned around to face me and held up the dress. "What do you think, Miss (Y/N)?" She asked.
"Perfect!" I clapped my hands together in delight. "Now, please help me get ready for the ball. I need to look elegant and decent for tonight's event," I stated.
"As you wish, milady."

"Oh no... how long till we reach the Phantomhive manor? We will be late in no time!"
"With this kind of traffic, we'll probably arrive in about an hour, milady," Mr. Robinson replied.
"Aren't there any other routes?"
"I'm afraid not, Miss (Y/N). We can't move forward nor go back. We're surrounded by carriages, wagons, and automobiles."
"Alright. I suppose we cannot do anything else but wait."
I sighed and looked out the window, resting my chin on my hands. 'This is going to be a long trip,' I thought to myself, and indeed it was. We were stuck in traffic for about an hour, just as Mr. Robinson predicted.
Finally, we arrived at the Phantomhive estate. I knocked at the huge doors, and it was opened by none other than Ciel's loyal butler, Sebastian. As the wooden doors opened, I went inside with Anne trailing behind me, and my oh my did I catch everyone's attention, for their eyes were all on me.
"Good evening, Lady (Y/L/N)," Sebastian greeted. "Welcome to the Phantomhive manor once more. The young master has been waiting for your arrival."
"Ah yes, a lovely evening to you too, Sebastian. Would you kindly bring me to Ciel?"
"Of course, milady." Sebastian placed a hand on his heart and bowed. "Follow me, please."
As Sebastian and I walked through the crowd, I heard a familiar voice calling out to me. Soon, I was engulfed in a bone-crushing embrace. "(YYY/NNN)! There you are! I've been waiting for you for the past hour. What happened to 'I hate being late'?"
"Can't... breath... Lizzy let... go..." I tried to wriggle my way out of her arms in desperate need of oxygen. She might look like a fragile girl at first glance, but don't judge a book by its cover. Her strength is something remarkable.
"Lizzy, please let (Y/N) go. You'll probably crush her into pieces if you don't," another familiar voice said half-joking.
"Alright, Ciel. I also do not wish to see her go home with a broken rib or two." Lizzy giggled and let go of me. Phew, mow I can finally breathe.
"Good evening, Ciel," I greeted him with a smile. "I am aware that tonight is such a special evening for Funtom Corporation, so I really did do my best to arrive on time. However, we unexpectedly got caught in traffic on the way here, and thus I apologise for being late," I said with sincerity.
"I understand. Thank you for explaining the situation, (Y/N). We were worried about you, and I thought that you weren't going to make it, but I am glad that you did. Thank you for coming to celebrate Funtom's anniversary with us." For once, Ciel flashed one of his rare genuine smiles.
"Aww, Ciel is smiling!" Lizzy pointed out. "I hope he smiles more in the future. We only see them once in a blue moon!"
"No, I'm not." Ciel wiped the smile off his face.
"Lizzy, you jinxed it!"
"Huh? What did I do?" Lizzy asked.
Ciel, Lizzy, and I kept chatting for some time. Soon, the both of them had to entertain some other guests, so they went off in their own way. I was left alone, and to be honest, I preferred to stay that way for just a short while. After a while, I heard my stomach rumble, signalling me that it was time to get some food.
I headed to the table where the food was located. My mouth watered at the wonderful sight before me — a full array of the finest dishes in the land, ranging from appetisers to dessert and an assortment of various drinks to suit everyone's taste.
'Time to dig in!' I thought to myself, and so I did. I ate my way starting from the finger foods to the main course. Soon, my plate was all clear, which means that dessert is up next. As I was walking to grab my dessert of choice, I suddenly bumped into a sturdy chest.
"I'm sorry. Are you alright, sir?" I inquired.
"Indeed, I am," he assured. "What's a fine young lady doing out here all by herself?"
"Well, you see I-" I stopped in the midst of explaining myself. Hold on... hold... on... I looked up and saw the face of the man before me. I knew it! It was him.
