(Y/N) POV

"Finally! Home sweet home." I stepped out of the carriage and stretched my arms. Oh it feels good to be back, but I feel so tired right now. I better get some sleep.

"Good evening, Sir (Y/L/N), Lady (Y/L/N), and Ms. (Y/L/N)." Mrs. Evans, the housekeeper, was waiting for our arrival at the front door. Her eyes soon landed on the two young boys hiding behind Father and greeted them. "Good evening to you as well, Young Sirs." Mrs. Evans smiled, but it made them seek shelter even more.

"I don't like her, Jim!" Luka whispered into his brother's ear. "She reminds me of the butcher's wife. She's so scary!"

"Shh!" Jim's hand flew over the little boy's mouth before he could say another word. "You know she might hear you, right?" Jim was not wrong. Mrs. Evan can hear everything. It has gotten to the point where I'm debating whether I should be amazed or concerned.

"Now, now, lads." Father stepped aside to reveal two trembling boys. "There is no need to fear Mrs. Evans. Why, she's the sweetest housekeeper in town!"

Even is she does not look like it...

"H-hello, Mrs. Evans," Jim managed to muster up a few words. Luka, on the other hand, cowered before imposing lady towering over him.

"Greetings, my lord, Lady (Y/L/N), and Ms. (Y/L/N). Greetings to you too, Young Sirs." Mr. Jones, the butler, stood next to Mrs. Evans and bowed his head in respect. The boys did not seem to fear him, unlike the intimidating lady near her. It was probably because of the calming aura he almost always projects. I'll admit that I enjoy Mr. Jones' presence very much. It is always a pleasure to have him around the house.

"Mrs. Evans, Mr. Jones, these are Jim and Luka Macken. They will be staying at the manor for the meantime until we find them a suitable family. Is that clear?" Father asked them.

"Yes, Sir," they replied in unison.

"Nanny Isabelle!" Mother called out. "Where are you?"

"Yes, my lady? I am here." Nanny Isabelle appeared in her signature black dress and white apron behind Mr. Jones and Mrs. Evans.

"Nanny! There you are!" I ran up to her and gave her a big hug. "I missed you."

"I missed you too, Miss (Y/N)," Nanny Isabelle said.

"Nanny Isabelle, these are Jim and Luka Macken," Father introduced the boys.  "They shall stay in the manor until we find the perfect family that'll take them in. As usual, you will be in charge of taking care of the children."

"As you wish, my lord," Nanny Isabelle said.

Alois POV

After Mr. (Y/L/N) was done giving additional orders, the servants led us inside the manor. The bright shining lights that illuminated the manor contrasted the dark, gloomy atmosphere of the night. High, pristine walls surrounded the elegant manor as golden white pillars loomed over us. The impeccable furnishing and decor themselves indicated how wealthy these people are. Just take a look at these vases and chandeliers. You know they're worth hundreds or even thousands of pounds!

"Nanny Isabelle, please take the children to their rooms," Mrs. (Y/L/N) ordered. "Bathe them and dress them before they go to sleep."

"Right away, my lady," Nanny Isabelle said. "Come along, children. This way. Follow me, please."

Nanny Isabelle ushered us upstairs. We passed through a series of endless corridors lined with various portraits of who knows what and who knows who, one of them being (Y/N)'s. At least I saw a familiar face.

I stopped in my tracks, admiring the adorable toddler trapped in the canvas. The painting perfectly captured her (E/C) beady eyes and that big bright smile that can light up the entire universe. I was tempted to pinch her pink, chubby che-

"Jim? Jim, where did you go?"

"Wha-" I looked around me and saw an empty hallway, realising that I was left behind. "W-wait for me!" I shouted, hoping it was loud enough to hear me.

I tried to find my way back to Nanny Isabelle and Luka. Good thing I wasn't too far behind so it was not hard to catch up on them. I wondered how Nanny Isabelle walked from one place to another without getting lost. The manor was just so huge and there were lots of hallways. One could easily get lost. To me, it was like a big giant maze!

Luka was afraid to sleep on his own, so we decided that we would just share one. I also noticed that (Y/N)'s room was right in front of ours. Maybe the room arrangement is as it is to make Nanny Isabelle's job a bit easier.

"Good night, Jim! Good night Luka! Sweet dreams!" (Y/N) said before entering her room.

"Good night, (Y/N)!" We said in unison.

Luka and I plopped down on the big, king-sized bed. It was so soft and the pillows were  fluffy. Our new room was huge. I think it was twice, thrice... No, it was four or even five times bigger than our previous house itself!

We patiently waited for our turn to be bathed and dressed since Nanny Isabelle helped (Y/N) first to get ready for bed. After some time, we heard someone gently knock at the door.

"It's Nanny Isabelle, Young Sirs. May I come in?" She asked.

"Yes Nanny, you may," I replied.

Nanny Isabelle entered the room and immediately prepared the bath. When it was done, we went to the huge bathroom and took a bath. Luka and I enjoyed it a lot!

Finally, after a nice bath, Nanny Isabelle dressed us and tucked us in. Then, she sang us a sweet lullaby.

"Good night, children," Nanny Isabelle said before closing the door.

"Good night, Nanny." I closed my eyes and drifted away to dreamland.
