Before you start reading this chapter, I recommend listening to Isabella's Lullaby from The Promised Neverland on loop to set the mood. You can start playing the song starting from Nanny Isabelle's or (Y/N)'s POV (The choice is up to you!)

Nanny Isabelle POV

"Today is the day." A sad smile was present on Miss (Y/N)'s lips. "Mr. Spots, which dress should I wear? This one or this one?" She held the two dresses in front of her pet spider's enclosure. She continued to have a conversation with Mr. Spots as if he were still there.

"Oh what am I doing? Talking to a spider, let alone a non-existent one. I must have gone crazy!" She deeply sighed. "Nanny Isabelle, please do help me put this on."

"Right away, milady."

"Thank you." Miss (Y/N) smiled.

Poor Miss (Y/N), being relentlessly followed by a chain of unfortunate events. The past year had not been the greatest for her. She went through many trials and obstacles which kept her on her feet. They repeatedly knocked her down, only for her to stand up once more and face them head on. However, two had delivered the hardest blow out of them all.

A year ago, she lost her lover, her best friends, a good uncle, and a kind aunt on this very day. Due to an unknown reason, the Trancy's met their end by perishing from the flames that devoured their home.

Six months later, she discovered that her favourite pet spider, Mr. Spots, had gone missing. (Believe it or not, Mr. Spots had been with Miss (Y/N) for ten years!) The whole staff of the manor searched the entire property from top to bottom, but he was nowhere to be found until this very day.

(Y/N) POV

It was a quiet trip to the old Trancy Manor. Not a single person uttered a word till we reached our destination. The only things that could be heard were the cheerful chirping amongst the trees and the quiet buzzing of the bees along with the sound of steady trotting horses.

"Do you wish for me to accompany you, Miss (Y/N)?" Nanny Isabelle asked.

"No, thank you. I would like go there by myself. I shall call you if I were to need anything," I replied.

"As you wish, Miss (Y/N)."

I walked slow and steady, scanning the old manor with my eyes. It brought back countless memories, which I refused to let go of. There were happy ones, sad ones, funny ones, and so on and so forth.

"Auntie Margaret! Uncle George! I missed you!"

"(Y/N)! Where are you~? Come out, come out wherever you are~."

"What happened to you?"
"Well, I tripped and scraped my knee."
"Wait here, I shall get something to make it feel better."
"Thank you."

"(Y/N), meet Mr. Brown, my new teddy bear."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Brown. I'm (Y/N)."

"One, two, three! One, two, three!"
"Ugh, I messed up again..."
"Don't worry (Y/N), you'll get it soon. Practice makes perfect!"

"I baked a cake! Who wants some?"
"We do!"

"I love you, (Y/N)."
"I love you too."
"See you in two years, my angel."
"See you in two years. Stay safe, my love."

"Liar."

After a short walk, I eventually reached the Trancy's resting place situated in the middle of the garden at the back of the manor. There stood four gravestones, in honour of each family member.

"Good day, Uncle George and Auntie Margaret. Hello to you too, Alois and Luka. It is I, (Y/N). It is good to see you again after all this time. I have not visited you since last year."

Silence...

"I do apologise for my parents' absence. They have some important business to attend to right now, so I went here without them."

Quietness...

I stood there by myself, having a small chat with the Trancy's as if they were still in the land of the living. I told them about the things that had happened since they passed away, a few stories of mine, and even asked them several questions which were in turn answered by complete silence.

My legs soon got tired, so I decided to sit on the ground beside Alois' gravestone. "You know, Alois. If only I had known... if only I had known that it was all going to end up this way, I could have-... I would have-" I sighed.

"I wish I had the courage back then. I wish I told you about my feelings sooner. That way, we would have spent more time together, not as friends but as lovers." Tears started to form in my eyes, clouding my vision. One by one they cascaded down my cheeks.

"If only I had known that I were to lose you soon, I would have told you and would have shown you how much... just how much I love you every single day *sniff*. I would have taken every opportunity I had to smother you with kisses and engulf you in my embrace."

I hung my head low, knees pulled to my chest. Guilt and regret washed over me as the phrases 'If only I had known...', 'I would have...', 'I should have...', 'I could have...' echoed in my thoughts.

"I'm sorry, my love *sniff*. I'm sorry I couldn't do anything..." I cried, letting all the tears I held back spill down my face. "If it were possible, *hiccup* maybe if we met in another time, another world, or even another universe *sniff*, we would have had a different ending, but I guess that fate *sniff* had other plans for us. Regardless, I do not regret meeting you *hiccup*, befriending you, and loving you till the end. I love you, Alois *sniff*. Believe me, I do."

One thing I had learned was to treasure those you love as long as they live, as long as you are with them. Show them how much you love them, show them how much you value them before it is too late. You never know if there is still tomorrow nor the time death shall come knocking at your door.

If you love someone, go ahead and tell them! Don't be scared to take risks. Sure, they might turn down your love, but what if they won't? What if they love you too? Tell them while you still can, love them while you still can, lest you regret it,

Because I did...
