"I'm heartless." I was video chatting on the phone to Mars. "Why am I like this?"

"It's just trama Doll. I think that you need to rethink your whole 'I'm a bad person and I don't deserve love.' You seem to take my love very easily, what's different with Dox?"

"Because Dox is Dox. He's my little detective."

"Well what led to this divide?"

"I realized that I don't want to drag him into this world of riches. Below the surface of gold is an ocean of tar, I couldn't stand it if he got swept into the undrentide."

"Dollface what were your words exactly?"

"What drove the nail home was when he started to say my name and I told him to address me as Miss."

"River Knight!"

"I know." I groaned brushing my hair out. "I meeting up with him again today though."

"Really? He is still talking to you after you smashed your friendship to pieces?"

"For the case. I highlighted some parts of the will that I think we should explore."

"In between catching a murderer, try to mend that relationship. Did you see the wedding photos?"

"I saw them on Dox's computer."

"Which ones were you looking at?"

"The ones he selected to be printed. They were all of the ones when we were dancing, talking, and kissing."

"Hold the phone you slutty liar! You kissed!"

"On the nose Mars!"

"Did you tell him about the whole kiss location thing?" She sighed.

"Yes. We added one. If you kiss someone's nose it means, if only I could put what I'm thinking into words."

"You're both slice my throat in love with each other and are both in denial. Your pettiness astounds me."

"No, I'm not in love it's too soon."

"Sorry Doll, but there is no timeline for love. You fall when you do. It could take as long as three years or as short as three hours. There isn't going to be a logical timeline when you can love someone."

"I guess that's why we fall in love instead of walking in love." I laughed.

"You're so stupid sometimes. I gotta go Doll. Call me later to tell me more about this."

I hung up with Mars and tossed on an old college shirt with some loose shorts and my sandals.

Daisy had cooked some toast and prepared the coffee. I shoved a slice in my mouth and headed out to the car where Harry was already waiting.

"Station Miss?"

"Yep. It will be a while though. I have a lot of notes to go over."

Harry dropped me off at Ollie's diner to grab some coffees for Dox and I before he let me out at the station.

I waved him off and walked into the station. Clyde was talking to the front desk clerk.

"Hello, Clyde." I smiled while signing my name in. "What's up?"

"Just paperwork. Station 97 had some old files sent over that could help on your case and I'm checking them in." He rubbed his forehead. "Is that coffee?"

"Black. Here."

"You're a greater blessing than you'll ever know River." Clyde smiled.

"Doesn't Sally usually do paperwork?"
