"How are you, love?" Faiza's sweet voice rang through my phone. I missed her so much. I haven't spoken to her since I left France. I mean we would chat from time to time but it was different from really talking to her and hearing her voice.

I stepped into my office— yes, may office na ako— so I could hear her clearly kasi maingay sa labas. "I'm doing great. I've been occupied with this gallery I am working at. It's...it's a project that's close to my heart," smiling to myself as I explained.

"That sounds exciting, babe." She chuckled. "Is this a long term project of yours, are you going to stay in that company? or are you keeping your options open?"

Napahinto ako. I didn't know what was next. Hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupulutin pagkatapos nito. Hindi ko alam kung gusto kong manatili rito or umalis. To be honest, na wala rin iyan sa isipan ko. "Um—" my finger traced the bumps and crevices of my desk. "I actually haven't thought about it yet. I'll cross that bridge when I get there?"

"Hmm," Faiza didn't sound convinced. "Well, a friend of mine is opening an art agency in Singapore and he's looking for people to be part of his team. You were the first person that came to mind— I know you flew back home to be with your family but Singapore is relatively closer to the Philippines than Europe if you think about it. Interested?"

Singapore. Wow. "I'm flattered, Faiza. That sounds amazing."

"So I'll take it as Yes? No take backs, Korine! Send me your resume and credentials so I can forward them to him. Would you happen to be free next week to fly out to Singapore next sunday?"

Next Sunday. I pondered for a second. "Oh—that soon?"

"Yes, babe! That soon. Why? Is there a problem?"

"It's just that the launch will be next Saturday and—"

"And that's perfect! You fly out the morning after that."

"I—I don't know what to say." I chewed on my bottom lip.

"Say thank you Faiza, get on that plane, and get that job!"

Tumawa ako at umilig na lang. "Do I have time to think about it?"

"Oh of course, of course! You know what, how about this? I can still book you that flight if you ever do decide to fly out to Singapore."

"You're the best, Faiza."

"I know!" She chuckled. "Anyway, call me if you need anything alright? Take care."
