Scaled Love

Chapter 3.

Intentions.

Everyone will have something that they will regret not having or even not keeping it. It could be a person, that you lost while you were mesmerized by shiny stones while she was a diamond in disguise.

It has been almost four years since she left. I knew that she was going to do this one way or the other I was happy that she did but our parents became distant with me when they found out about Veronica and me being together. They also know that I had cheated on her with her sister.

When she left, it was like a weight that was gone. I was happy that she left and I immediately asked Veronica to move in with me. She has been the best thing that has happened in my life.

She is beautiful and hot and let's not forget sexy in all aspects. But I could never pop the question because I felt something missing in our relationship.

I didn't feel the spark with her. The spark that would want me to get hitched. The spark that would last forever.

"Sir, your father is here to see you?" Lia interrupted his thoughts.

"Send him in".

Jacob Walcott has been a man that anyone would look up to for advice either in business or even in marriage. He has been married for almost forty years to Tatiana.

"Hello, son. Don't worry I am not here to lecture you in your life. I am here to tell you that your mother wants you tomorrow for dinner, "He tells his son. "Alone", he added knowing that Veronica might want to come along.

"Okay, dad. I will be there but could you please be nice to Veronica. She is my girlfriend and soon-to-be fiancée. I am planning to propose to her very soon and I hope you and mum can accept her as my wife when the time comes", Theo tells his father.

"I will support you when you give us a good reason as to why Arian left and filed for a divorce. Then your mother and I will understand what you did. As for now, I have to go I am late for a meeting. Don't forget your mother expects you tomorrow night for dinner and don't be late".

Jacob walks out shaking his head. Veronica has him under her spell.

Love can surely make someone blind but what he is feeling isn't love for her but lust. When he realizes who his true love that's when he starts to regret a lot of things.

Theo had no idea that Veronica was cheating on him with different men. She is with him because of the money and the jealousy she feels for her sister.

Veronica has always been jealous of Arian because of how intelligent she is and how fast she can make friends without even trying.

Theo started thinking about Arian.

Where could she be?

Veronica was lying in bed with one of her many lovers. "So when will you leave him and be mine? You know I could give you everything that your heart desires, "he tells her.

But Veronica doesn't want to be tied down just by anyone. She wants someone richer than any of her lovers.

"Not now, I have to be somewhere. I will call you later", she tells him after getting dressed.

"Here, this is for you", he handed a credit card under her name as he normally did.

She took it knowing that she would not see him again. His time has expired.

Arian was a thorn by my side. She needed to be removed and I needed Theo not because I love him but because I love his money.

Her phone started to ring. Veronica looked at the caller hoping it wasn't Theo. When she saw that it was none other than her mother she answered.

"Hello, mum. How are you?".

"Veronica, your father is in the hospital. He had suffered a heartattack", her mother tells her.

She quickly rushed to the hospital to see him.  But she didn't expect her to be there, especially with someone else.
