(Name) POV
Maybe this superhero-ing thing really isn't for me anymore.
I should've come to terms with this before I jumped into this fight.
This group of guys was trying to mug a couple, typical alleyway setting and all.
"Come on guys, broad daylight? Dumbass is one of the nicest synonyms for the multiple words I could call you right now." My muffled voice sounded out.
Not having a mask to cover my face with, I had just taken off the jacket I was wearing and used it to cover the bottom of my face and my hair.
Gotta wash this thing later.
"We gonna do this the easy way, or the hard way?" I questioned with a raised brow.
They didn't even answer before letting out a war cry and rushing me.
"I would say something along the lines of 'the audacity!' but I'm sure you group of meathead primates would ask me what that means."
My banter obviously served to make them angry.
It's not easy carrying a conversation on your own.
Anyway, there were only like four guys, should be easy enough.
One of them swung at me with a pipe, but didn't hit me on account of my amazing dodging skills.
Apparently my amazing dodging kills didn't stop one of them from punching me in the back of the head.
Growling slightly at my vision becoming slightly blurry from the impact, I spun around quickly and grabbed the guy by his arm.
"Don't flinch." I mockingly said before flipping him over my shoulder. Increasing the output of my ability, I thought of the loudest sound imaginable and proceeded to project my thought waves at him until he passed out.
Without giving them time to realize what happened, I shot forward and grabbed the pipe I was almost hit with.
"This is only gonna hurt worse than anything you've ever felt." I warned him beforehand before sparks started to jump off of me. Electricity traveled through the pipe and I watched as he was electrocuted.
He let go of the pipe after a few seconds and fell to the ground smoking. I then turned to the last one standing and clutched the pipe and channeled more of my ability into it.
The metal began to glow a bright orange and began to bend in my hand. "Now to finish you all off." I spoke darkly.
The man looked downright terrified and turned around to start running away.
Laughing at the fact that he tripped over his feet a few times, I dropped the pipe before turning to the couple. "You two okay?"
"U-Uhm, yeah...my name is-"
"That's not exactly what I asked."
The guy looked a little put off by my bluntness. Not caring in the slightest, I stretched and crouched a bit, tensing my leg muscles.
"I-Is there anything that we can do for you, mister?" The girl questioned softly, taking a step forward.
I raised a brow and continued to crouch. "Don't do drugs? I don't know man, I'm a guy who likes helping people, not a role model." I responded, a little annoyed before noticing I had built up enough power and held my hand out towards a trash can lid.
It flew into my outstretched hand before it stood up again. "Alright, you two be safe, don't get robbed again." I said nonchalantly before tossing the lid into the air as it was covered in electricity and started to float.
I hopped on it and flew off at high speeds, holding the jacket I used as a makeshift mask away from my nose so that I could breathe a little easier.
Feeling something vibrate against my leg, I reached into my pocket and pulled my phone out.
"Hello?" I held it to my ear after I answered it and looked at the city below me.
"(Name)!"
Sigh.
"Yes, Akali?"
I recall only giving my number to Kai'sa. Might need to have a talk with her later.
"The others are sending me on a food run, I was wondering if you wanted to join me?"
"Why would I want to do that?"
"Because I can promise a little bonus in your paycheck if you do."
"Where are we meeting?"
I heard her chuckle slightly, serving to annoy me a little.
"I'll send you the address, meet me there in an hour." And with that, she hung up.
I put my phone away and glanced around a few times, doesn't seem like anything is popping off as of right now.
Better for me.
Making a sudden turn on my DIY hoverboard, I started to head in the general direction of my home.
-Timeskip-
I stood in front of the place Akali told me to meet her at.
My hands were stuffed in my pockets as I tapped my foot against the ground repeatedly.
"We're you waiting long?"
I heard, making me sigh in relief.
"Only fucking forever."
I turned my head to face who was speaking and was met with a girl who looked around 14 years old.
"No need to be rude to your only friend, (Nickname)." She said with a small pout, though I could tell that it was playful.
"No need to keep calling me by that lame name, 404."
I ignored the raspberry she blew at me.
"Guess it really is a fitting nickname then, yeah?" The girl spoke in a teasing tone.
"Bah, silence you vile bitch."
"You mean witch?"
"Did it sound like I meant witch?"
She simply gave me a grin and lightly pushed me. She then started walking and motioned for me to follow.
"Come on idiot, the lines gonna get long!" She exclaimed in an excited tone, making me roll my eyes.
I was ripped away from my flashback as I felt someone grab my hand and begin pulling me. I look down and see the person I was supposed to be meeting with.
"Jesus Christ you're heavy! Do you eat bricks?" Akali grunted softly as she continued to drag me toward a restaurant.
I didn't answer though, my mind was too occupied by the flashback I just had. That was the same girl as last time, but she seemed a few years older.
Her features were a lot clearer this time too, still impossible to tell what she looked like, but clearer.
I just stared at Akali for a few seconds before sighing softly. Deciding to take the lead, I walked in front of her and started to pull her along.
"Let's go get that food, Rogue."
-Third Person POV-
On the edge of the city, stood a tall figure with baggy clothes that blew in the soft breeze. They stared at all of the buildings before them before their lips curled upward.
"It seems as if my little test subject has decided to step into the limelight once more."
"Maybe I should set up a meeting between us."
