Tabithas p.o.v.
I swiftly lifted up in the hospital bed, blinding white walls surrounding me. No one was around.
I got up, no more needles hooked up to my arms. I walked out the door of the blinding white room, to end up in a hallway just as white as the room. Confusion set in, as this was not the hospital I came into just the other day. Not a single human came into view as I trailed down the hall. A voice from behind called out, Anna.
“Anna?” I shockly shouted.
“It’s me.” She flashed me a white smile and hugged me.
“Where is everyone?” She looked around confused.
“What do you mean Tabitha?”
Dumbstruck I once again asked her;
“Where is everyone?”
A look of distress crossed her face, a hint of realization shortly after.
“You don’t know..”
“Don’t know what?” I began to become confused.
She opened up her mouth to talk but nothing came out, as she tried to put together the words that were more than hard to say and hear.
“You’re dead, Tabitha. So am I, I always have been.”
“Wha-?”
She leaned over to hug me but I backed against the wall bracing myself for a second, taking in what I had just heard.
“No.”
“Tabitha?” She echoed worry stretching through her voice.
“How-“ I asked, the question open ended.
“Heart attack, it was too much for your body to take. They couldn’t save you, there was no way.”
Emotions ran through my system as I began to accept the truth that was laid in front of me.
“It’s over?” was all I could reply to her.
“It’s over Tabitha, you’ve moved on and it’s time to meet your guardian.”
She smiled at me as she knew I was about to ask her a question.
“After life, here you will face obstacles that you have to get around to survive. There are no endings, just beginnings and new lives. We welcome anyone, but only you pick the people you see. For instance; I can see my best friend, my mom, my father, exedra.”
“Heidi” once again I asked an open ended question.
I walked away from Anna, towards two huge doors that welcomed me onto desolate isolated streets. Not a single person or animal in sight.
I didn’t realize Anna was next to me until she startled me as she began to talk but was interrupted by a loud commotion and a huge thump.
I swiftly turned around, and there she stood.
I began to sob, falling to the ground.
My best friend, my everything stood in front of me.
