Number One

Davin's P.O.V.

The sudden urge of accomplishment and happiness settled over me as the small little town came into view. I beamed and squeezed Ninas hand tight, knowing her little legs were tired from walking.

"I tired." She looked up at me her beautiful eyes with bags under them.

"We're almost there hunny." I began to question where "there" really was. There is no where safe, there is no where secure. Safety did not exist here, unless living underground would never bother you.

Sometimes I thought about it. Having Nina, her safety was my main priority and if it ment living underground then I guess that would be our way of life when we found a stable place and plenty food. 

 A twinge of direction hit me and I realized that I could feel Heidi again, she must be in my radius. In my thoughts I began to think about Luka and why it's been so long since I had seen him. My feet began to give out and I guided Nina to a place to sit down 

Was he okay?

Was he alive?

Was there a such thing as alive?

Was there a such thing as dead?

Were we dead or alive?

In between?

I pulled Nina close and rocked back and forth as to comfort and be a security blanket. I knew we couldn't stay in one place very long because we would become a target to anything that came into our space. We would lose that fight quickly.

I shook the image out of my mind and lifted her up and we began our journey again.

It had been about another hour and 19 houses later when the sense of Heidi became stronger. A strange noise came from above and I looked up.

A beautiful Heidi landed next to me, her beautiful vibrant wings coming to settle on her back.

From beind her Tabitha stepped out. My mouth dropped as I shedded a tear of happiness and saddness as I did everytime someone joined us. She ran into my arms, nearly tackling me.

 "I-I'm so glad you're okay!"

"Wh-when you died I lost it. I lost it." She weeped into my shoulder.

"I was imagining things. These people- they were chasing me trying to kill me."

Shortly after a even more vibrant Alexander landed next to me. 

"I'm an angel now." He laughed, as I looked at him in awe and confusion.

"Ah." I shook my head understandingly looking over at Heidi for her answer.

"Guardian." I quickly questioned "How."

"I'm not sure.. the last time I died, I just didn't come back."

So there was one answer on my huge list of questions.

Once you die so many times your body just gives up. Save yourself the hastle and die a few more times.
